*I searched. Didn't find anything. If I missed anything, very sorry.

Can be watched here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/showseries?id=2292

Based on true events.

Four siblings live happily with their mother in a small apartment in Tokyo.

In fact, the children all have different fathers and have never been to school. The very existence of three of them has been hidden from the landlord. One day, the mother leaves behind a little money and a note, charging her oldest boy to look after the others.

And so begins the children's odyssey, a journey nobody knows.

Personally, I loved this movie. It really touched me, and I'll admit it, I even cried a bit. >.> When I was watching it, I didn't know it was based on true events. And when I realized that, it horrified me. I read about it later on about the real events in the wiki. It...made me sad. o.o

I bought the DVD. It was kind of depressing, but damn!.. Man! I'm telling you guys... it was really good! Two thumbs up! I cried for the last part when his sister died and they buried the body.

I know. It was horrible and scary! His mom was 'tonto' (stupid). Duh! How dare she left her kids with nothing except for the little amount of money. While I was reading the whole real scenarios I want to kill his friend, too. Feel bad for them..

So sad..but then again, how could a movie about a bunch of kids being abandoned by their mother not be sad? Really good acting from such young kids, too!!

Gah, i read the wiki page, and god, it scared me.
That someone can leave their children all alone, and 2 of them dying.
"A"s friends... GAH i feel like crying. They killed 2 of the children?

It was pretty good, definitely sad. I think Koreeda Hirokazu has directed better stuff. For example, After Life.

i watched it last night. the acting from the main character Akir was amazing. the director did a good job of portraying the reality that's going on in the world.

Spoiler ahead: only read if you've watched the moive

okey these scenes made me cry out of anger.
when he used his own money to convince his younger siblings that his mom sent them presents for christmas when that stupid whore didn't even show.
also when he was picking up the dirt to barry his sister, he was shaking, i started crying.
the scene where the youngest sister took out the last peace of chocolate and ate it, damn that was sad, knowing that she saved it for so long.
the movie's ending seemed opened but i loved how the director set it up.
their lives moved on even after the tragedy and their future was ahead of them.
sorry for ranting, but i can't stop complimenting the film. everyone should watch it. 5/5
