good movie , but really sad / depresssinng .

he didn't beat her up, he raped her...

what? really!? In all the storis I read about it they never gave the sex of the kid and just said she/he was "assaulted" by the brother's friend and the brother helped bury it ....

I thought the term "assaulted" is a polite way to say beaten and raped???

Oh, You're probably right, but the one I read gave me the feel of being beaten not raped, "assaulted" goes both ways

Do you know where I can find that interview?

http://www.time.com/time/asia/2004/heroes/hyuuya_yagira.html

This's the link to the article. It's not exactly an interview but more like a feature page of the actor.

I have this film! I had read about it and wanted to see it; then my cousin gave it to me for Christmas. I've watched it several times over (very unusual for me!). The story attracted me; also the fact it was based on a real-life situation.

It *is* a slow film
- but for me it was well worth watching. I pick up new things every time I watch it. Yes, it is sad. But it is also full of funny, bright, hopeful moments. I think it does a good job of showing growth.

The music was one of my favorite parts of the film - and so catchy that I hear it in my head all the time. It was very haunting and entrancing - and the theme keeps on drawing you forward.

Love this - would recommend!

I watched this movie on DVD two years ago. And Yuya Yagira's act in this movie is beyond of what a 14 years old boy and even a pro- actors could do.. He's such a talented young man!!
I hope he can pull himself together and create more great works...

it sounds very depressing.. so sad to know it is based off of a true story.
