I went to japan, hong kong, and macau last year. I at the time didnt really care much about japan until I saw it. Everything was different and just so cute and everyone dressed so nice. In hong kong I remember going disney and thats it. In macau I remember that the hotels were really nice and there was no one there.

I took vacation days from work for Anime Central, if that counts...
Though I was working at one of the industry booths the whole weekend anyways, so I suppose you could call that a working vacation? Haha. Was a lot of fun though, met some cool people and one night when we went out to get dinner after the dealer hall closed we got lost on the way there and then it took an HOUR to get inside the restaurant and another half hour or so to get our food. That was interesting, haha. Adventure!

Went to the beach, shopping at outside malls, dinner in more decent restaurants, waterpark, rode in an army car that can turn into a boat... all with my family

I went to Arizona for Christmas to visit some family. I guess seeing my cousin and how much she's changed is a good memory. She matured so much. I think she's genderfluid, now, as well. I apologize if I'm using the wrong pronouns behind her back. Anyway, she's my age, so it's nice to have a well put together, and less argumentative conversation with a peer.

What is this "vacation" you speak of?

I actually haven't been on one since AT LEAST...oh, 2001.

...Although I don't care to GO anywhere. All the planning and saving money is just a huge hassle to me. (It doesn't help that I import a LOT and when I see a good sale my "trigger finger" gets a little antsy and wants to buy things. )

The closest thing to a vacation I've had since I was a freshman in high school was the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads state convention in the Smokey Mountains. Put 8 people specifically trained to destroy cars in the most efficient and safe way possible into a hotel room and there will be shenanigans. That time around, in order to dodge trying to drive in Pigeon Forge, I walked over a mile to the nearest gas station at 12:30 to get spicy beef jerky, which wrecked all the other people who ate it. Before that, I went to Gatlinburg with a church congregation, which culminated in me running/stumbling/falling 3,000 feet off a mountain and having to walk for three hours to get back up sad mountain.

You forgot the "time" part. I know people who have the money for vacation, but are too busy to get away...or are forced to bring work WITH them when they go on vacation. Case in point--my boss is on vacation, but I am communicating with him via email because there have been a few issues that I cannot handle by myself because I don't have the authority to do so. (Incidentally--I HATE it when my boss goes on vacation because it NEVER fails! Something ALWAYS blows up and I have to deal with the brunt of the problem and people get mad at ME because I can't help them very much without authorization from my boss. I don't really call it a "vacation" if you have to bring your work with you, but in my field, it's impossible to go more than a few days without SOMETHING coming up).

Last real vacation was a few weeks in Ireland a couple of years ago. We own a cabin in the mountains of Tennessee that we visit over the main US holidays...but I see that as more of a getaway than a vacation.

My only true vacation was going to a beach in South Carolina with my dad a few years ago. It was nice I suppose.
