Insanity to me is when a person has hallucinations, but doesn't realize that they are having them, and believes that they are real.

I've been around plenty of insane and clinically psychopathic people in my life considering such traits run in my family. Both sides of my family are heavily filled with insane people, psychopaths, and sociopaths. Hell, one of my great grandmothers was one of the first people to ever receive electroshock therapy. Several other family members have been institutionalized for various reasons. Though the term "insanity" is a bit archaic anymore, it can still be used to define people. To me, it denotes and defines extreme instability of the mind in any countless numbers of ways.

The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bullshitting me, so, boom, I shot him. The thing is... he was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these fucking pricks, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fucking thing... over and over and over and over again thinking, 'This time is gonna be different. No, no, no please... This time is gonna be different.' I'm sorry, I don't like... The way... you are looking at me... Okay, Do you have a fucking problem in your head, do you think I am bullshitting you, do you think I am lying? Fuck you! Okay? Fuck you!... It's okay, man. I'm gonna chill, hermano. I'm gonna chill... The thing is... Alright, the thing is I killed you once already... and it's not like I am fucking crazy. It's okay... It's like water under the bridge. Did I ever tell you the definition... of insanity?"

I was thinking of exactly the same thing

Ever see the Far Cry 3 videos with him in them? They're hilarious. Totally nuts.

Congratulations! You're not crazy! :D

I used to get audio and visual hallucinations, too, but I knew they weren't real. But yet... I still doubted if I really knew. o.o I'd sometimes ask people if they saw something or not, to determine if I was hallucinating or not. Turns out whenever I'd have to ask, I wasn't hallucinating at all, though. So I'm not cray-cray either. And I don't get them anymore now either. It was just a long term side effect of ODing on ADD medication for a half a year (the pharmacy kept giving me a significantly higher dose than what I was prescribed and it took a while for my parents to realize that's what was making me crazy). Left me having hallucinations for 5ish years after I stopped taking the medication. O_O
