Has Hunter X Hunter reached a point in both popularity and length that it can stand among the big three?

Personally i think it has. I think the fandom has reached a point in which it can stand tall next to the giants of Anime.

So should the big three, now be made the big four?

What's this Big 3 thing?

I'm still watching Dragonball Z.

HxH is great, but its not of the right length yet. Part of the appeal of the big ones is the endless content. Shit is still happened ng in those shows.

In my mind, I've already pushed Bleach out of the Big 3 the moment the anime ended when the manga was still going.

Eh to me, the Big 3 would probably be Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. I don't count FT or HxH.

What about Fairy Tail? Seems much more Big 3-ish to me.

If it doesn't have filler, then HxH is gonna end sort of soon, sadly. That'll bump it out of the running as soon as it gets in.

I actually feel parts of HxH are a bit more seinen than they are shonen. I don't think it will ever have the wide appeal that the other shows have. I mean I personally love it, but I think it will appeal MUCH more to like a 15+ demographic where the other ones are accessible to like 8+.

Yes why not?

HXH deserve to be added while FT is not.

I'd say the big 5 are Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, and Fairy Tail

although I don't watch 2 of them lol

The Big 3 refer to the ones that are in Weekly Shounen Jump right? I don't think Fairy Tail counts because its in Weekly Shounen Magazine.

It really seems like it should be changed to the "Big Six" (seven if we're including Hunter x Hunter) in order accommodate hugely popular anime like DBZ, Pokemon and Yugioh. The other three would obviously be One Piece, Naruto and Bleach considering how immensely popular they are.

My big 3 is HxH, Naruto, DBZ

Although Naruto is only there for it's popularity as I think that any show that is allowed to run a full 6 months of filler episodes should be cancelled.

Although, One Piece probably has a bigger fanbase than HxH, I just don't like it so biased.

As long as you don't factor in America(north and south), I would argue One Piece is the most popular, the others are just normal.

Factoring in the global DBZ appeal, the scales tip. Brazil received Battle of the Gods back in 2013, they RUSHED it to theaters there. That is quite the fanbase.

i seriously dont think that hxh is as popular as the "big four", but its faaaaaaar better than those overrated animes, they all became shit except one piece and DBZ was never that a big deal

fairy tail is as popular as one piece and naruto, the difference is that those titles are awarded to shonen magazine animes, in this case fairy tail is published by another magazine, the one that could succeed them is toriko but the anime/manga is not as popular

I have to factor in America, as I live in America.

DBZ is probably the most popular of the three (in my experience) because as kids, my generation grew up with it and still love it.

Then it would be Naruto. Most of my friends could only name one anime (because they consider DBZ and Pokemon to be "cartoons" not anime) and it would be Naruto.

One Piece is super-popular, but I never hear anyone talk about liking One Piece unless they are heavily in to anime. It doesn't seem to appeal to casual anime viewers (Once again in my experience)
