Pretty much in the description, talk about your current car here and probably your future car if you were to have the chance to buy it. (Be realistic...)

Currently I'm driving a 2000 Toyota Corolla CE(which is also my mom's car). This fun car gets me everywhere. Except up real steep inclines, which this car seems to slow and stall a bit... Awesome car to drive, no real modifications since it's not really my car..

My choice for an actual car that I would like to own is probably the 1988 Toyota Corolla GT-S. I recently found one in some ad. For about $1650CAD, well maintained, 200K+ km, new tires, exhaust, rotors, calipers, pads, a bit of rust behind the bumpers and underside. it sure sounds a nice deal... but I have a feeling insurance is going to cost more than the car... 0.o... The guy is even throwing in a car freshener ~Should I get it?

well i wouldnt do that too buy a car that someone said that they maintained it if i was you i would find a car on craigslist and buy one thats $300 dollars and for a comuter and then buy a nice car for $1650

well its a old car and well old cars do have their problems...it u wanna get it cuz u saw initial d and think its like that ur in for a surprise(even though the series has the AE-86 and this is a AE-92..i think). i would rather suggest saving a little more and either getting the old school supra(my first car) or the nissans(s12,13,300zx).

SW20 is just the chassis code. It can be turbo or NA.

Where are you located in Philly? My buddy has a red 2g also. The guy he bought it from has several mr2s and picked up a black one recently. Are you viet and have a cousin named mike? 3sgte?..psh....I would rather have a 5sfe-T.

i have a friend who had a 86' gts hatchback and he got rid of it because according to him it was a "money pit". he said he had to fix or replace a bunch of stuff but thats his opinion, as for me i'd rather hold off and find something better. but thats just me.

My buddy mike is actually from Upper Darby but his cousin is right outside of center city, off of broad street and thats who my other buddy bought it off of.

The 5sfe is the stock motor in the na MR2. Its got a very similar casting, almost identical to the 3sgte. The 3sgte transmission bolts on to the NA mr2 and so does the head and almost everything else. IMO the 5sfe is much better(yet all the mr2 guys drool over a JDM 3sgte... ) You have two blocks. Ones a 3sgte a turbo 2.0l and the other is a 5sfe NA 2.2l. Now you can turbo the 5sfe by using the 3sgte head/intake manifold/turbo manifold and put in aftermarket pistons/rods. Now that you have forged aftermarket internals you never really have to worry about blowing the motor up and in the future you will have plenty of room to grow if you decide to push the motor over 6-800HP. This combination is perfect for the streets because you have a bigger 2.2l engine that will give you a faster spool with the same turbo as the 3sgte but you will also get much better off boost response and torque that its 2.0l counter partner. Not only that but incase anything does happen to your motor or if you dont want to put aftermarket internals in the car(91 na mr2's have forged pistons from the factory) these motors are readily available here in the US and you wont have to wait on parts.

You can turbo a stock na 5sfe motor and safely run 7-8 psi. You will just need some injectors and something to control them. Also turbo size plays a huge role in how much boost you should run also as a smaller turbo will but pushing much less cfm at 7-8 psi that a much larger one. If you have a built motor though you would have to worry about it. I run 30psi on my motor.

And there are 4 different types on MR2 motors. The mk1 is a 4age. Its either NA or supercharged. The mk2 has either a 5sfe(na) or a 3sgte(turbo). And finally the mk3 has a 1zzfe(na) motor.
