So I recently watch this video or pbs.org about the future and what it will be like. So my question is the same to you, what do you think our future will be like?? say in the year 2060 or later!

Flying cars?
Robots that do chores for us?
Virtual gaming?
Give me your thoughts!

If you have time to watch this video, I suggest you do it. It's very interesting.

I'd have to say that global warming has started to take effect because many governments aren't regulating CO2. With rising oceans many coastline cities start to flood such as Tokyo, Shanghai, New York, etc. With a mass to solve the problem many things become more regulated or more pressing concerns are geared toward technology to deal with the problem, then hopefully research is progressed to the point where it influences the majority of the worlds lives in a positive aspect., with developing countries on the rise and a growing middle class. The world is hopefully a better place to live in general.

But that's my more optimistic point of view.

Realistically, one of the more probable outcomes is that a small war breaks, which eventually escalates to world war. Creating massive amounts of deaths and hindrances where many countries have many losses. Afterwards society needs to be reformed, and who knows what after that.

Course other things could happen in the future. A new epidemic could be introduced, invasion of some kind, Natural Phenomena (good and bad), advancement in technology, world alliance or peace, and breakdown of society.

But no one truly knows where the future is headed.

The more I indulge myself into this subject, the more upset and anxious I get. I'm mostly looking towards current controversial issues to improve in the future. That makes me feel better. I really feel like we're going to be talking about the fight for gay rights and how ridiculous it was because it was preventing someone to love someone in future History classes. Now that's somethin' I'm looking forward to.

I believe in 30 years, AI will become smarter than all of humanity combined and give us almost everything we could ever want.

the iphone 817 will come out and it'll cost your first born child and one of your kidneys :P

more countries will become bankrupt. the middle class will cease to exist.

future technology isn't as close as it seems because it costs a lot of money to get new projects going and spread worldwide (solar panel roads, etc) as well as new rules passed.

what people don't understand is that you can't just snap your fingers and have hover cars and solar technology and highspeed internet and clean water and just mindblowing technology all over the world, it costs TRILLIONS of dollars that none of us have to do that stuff. as it is now electricity hasn't even reached the entire world yet, and it's surprising to us living in 1st world countries.

concepts and small projects to make test models and stuff are a good start, but i think we're a loooong way from anything worth my brain exploding over.

sure north america/europe/asia will gain a lot in the future but i like to think of everything in a bigger picture, aka the world. we've got a long way to go as a whole.

WOW man, you cant be so pessimistic about the future, the great thing about the future is that there is still time to change it by taking a different course of action.Sure things look dark but it only takes a few noble actions from a few good people to change the future. Also this might be off topic but the major news outlets only report on horrible stuff because it boost ratings, there have been major strides to reduce
CO2 from both the US and China and what is happening in the middle east and in Ukraine is slightly improving, if you want to get facts about world events I suggest watching PBS news hour and reading some news papers, but be careful about reading the news papers because some have bias .

The same it has been for the past decades. Breakthroughs in science, medicine, technology, production, and energy... all of it privatized or exclusive. These advances will likely result in increased standards of living, but will also affect the costs of living, whether raising them or lowering them due to more efficiency, or perhaps resulting in employment downturn because of that efficiency.

Then there's the usual social afflictions. The same political and bureaucratic quibbling without solutions. The outbreak of new conflicts, whether sectarian or, the beginnings competition over water. Government and corporations are not concerned with the preservation of the species after all.

I imagine there will be more automation and innovation, but also deterioration among other things, namely social and economic equity.
