Straight forward question for you all. Which pieces of music sounds better to you? Vocals or Without Vocals?

Vocals don't matter to me. I've heard both good music with vocals and good music without vocals.

Vocals, especially in Epic/Movie Music. Like in Two Steps from Hell, the background vocals with the archaic sound language make one of their songs sound about 100x better than without. I like Instrumentals but adding some good vocals too it is like adding a topping on top of vanilla ice cream, it almost always makes it better.

With vocals for me, a good band with a great singer just goes together so well.

Not to say I hat instrumental or anything, I have liked a lot of songs without any vocals.

Hmmm depends on the mood for me If I am studying or reading I like non vocal "classical music" If I am working or working out or driving I love vocal music c:

Really depends on the mood. I have noticed recently I've been enjoying classical music without vocals a tad bit more.

I've been into hip hop, underground hip hop, electronica and trap. I prefer those genres either instrumental or just the way electronica and trap should be (without vocals just samples). The only genre that I prefer with vocals is alternative, kinda like Phoenix or The Black Keys other than that instrumentals for me.

I have a preference for music without vocals, but neither is one better than the other.

I only accept vocals if the lyrics aren't treated as filler noise.

Prefer instrumental, with some exceptions. Also agree not a fan of filler lyrics.

Both are good for me, I don't have a preference. I see the voice as just another instrument. The only thing is whether or not the vocals fit and are are good.

An example of vocals not fitting would be Dream theater, which is almost the only example I can come up with. Not to say that the singer is bad, just feel like it takes away from the rest of the musicianship.

Bad singers come in plenty, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are just two I can think of off the top of my head right now. But not to say that I dislike their music either. I actually like Justin Timberlake's produced music, it's well made. Also note Justin Timberlake is only a good singer in a group, alone he cannot pull it off. Just like the One Direction boys, they got kicked off X factor individually but once they were put together, boom.

Bad music(imo) but good singers is also possible like Miley Cyrus who has good vocal capabilities but makes songs like wrecking ball, which is not a bad song musically, but I find boring and bland.
Justin Bieber also has a good voice, even if I were to judge his character as bad, his voice is different, gotta judge a voice without prejudice. Gotta admit I haven't heard his voice in a while though, don't know how it changed live.

Some vocals have fun ranges though, like kellin quinn(sleeping with sirens) and Nano

I personally prefer no vocals. But it doesn't really matter that much.
