i personally would prefer him to be male and look male
without the 'THATS NOT A GIRL???' gimmick

I was beginning to worry that he was going to play off the whole girl thing for a long time. I'm glad he eventually told Sinon.
I like him as a male protagonist, but that's probably because that is what I am used to in the series. I don't think it would be a bad idea for other shows to incorporate multiple protagonists of the same gender, but I like Kirito the way he is. That being said....
I do like how the show has started off. Really excited about whats going to happen.
