Ive got a couple..
My PE teacher is from northern England (rugby guy, very shouty and aggressive) but after going off on a tangent he briefly mentioned theories to do with chance and luck.. and I was certain he had gotten it all from NGNL, so I called him on it and for the rest of the class we spoke about NGNL and SAO! needless to say the rest of the class sat there in awe..
And also this uber popular girl, peformer dancer pretty, you know the type.. we got paired up in an activity and she was doodling in a notepad, and I recognized it to be Tachibana Mei from Say I love You.. she showed me at least 50 pages worth of other drawings from FMA, bleach and so on...

I use to attend a place call Goodwill and a woman who helped me with training for a job liked anime along with a driver and two random guys that worked there.

A lady at a hospital liked anime and her favorite is Big O. The same was with a guy who liked Fullmetal Alchemist.

My uncle though I'm not so sure if he still does. He liked High School of the Dead, Sigel, Karas, and Appleseed.

My cousin might still enjoy it.

I've never been surprised because I knew everyone who did (even the closests) and that I'm one of those people who unexpectedly like anime
It's a curse that I look like this because I tried to have a conversation with this random guy in a Zelda shirt and he just stared at me and went on his own business that was mean also some of the people at my school's anime and manga club don't even try to talk to me they talk to my friends though and then I'm left out
You think that they would at least talk to you. I'm a nice person... Sometimes...

I think I met one of my cousin's friends one time, and she said she had a 31-year-old teacher who liked to watch Naruto XD

My mom... She said back in the 80's she used to watch Sailor Moon all the time. I gave her a horrified look and she proceeded to attempt to do the poses. Ughh.....

Out of everyone I've ever met, I am usually that one guy that no one expected. I get it quite frequently

I'd probably have to say myself lol XD I'm not shy about it, but most people don't peg a Hockey/Lacrosse player who's very loving of both sports and loves getting out and about and drinking with friends as a big anime fan like myself. I actually had a co-worker visit my place recently after work (I was giving them a ride home and had to grab something) and he never knew I liked anime and the wall scrolls and anime backgrounds on my monitors threw him off a bit lol. He was like, "I just didn't peg you as that type of person!" Not in a harsh way at all, granted he does still poke fun at it here and there but it's all in good fun.

So yeah, myself I have yet to meet anyone else in my life who's into anime like myself. Most of my friends are through sports and they don't like it and I do kind of hide it from them a bit haha.

We know it's just that online you run into people more often who share the same interests as you, but offline it's not as common since some people probably hide it or you would have never expected it because of their appearance or lifestyle. Like I said in my post I went to a Christian school and they were quite strict, so I thought something like anime would be something they would frown upon. Though to my surprise I learned that my Physics/English teacher liked anime and manga. So I was proven wrong and thought it was pretty neat.
Also it turns out that the Youth Pastor for my school's church also watches anime. For graduation we had to make a senior table so I wanted to put a couple anime up there to show my hobby(sadly I wasn't able to strict school and all), but I was talking to the Youth Pastor and showed him what I wanted to put up there and he seemed to notice the series( it was stuff like Haibane Renmei, FMA Brotherhood, and Steins;Gate). So to me it's just a matter of Hmm I never would have guessed.

I'm one too. Since coming to Crunchyroll I've since learned that that are many asynchronous fans though.

I fail to remember and i'm not easily surprised or maybe i'm just a moderate fan of anime myself so I wouldn't care if someone was on about some certain anime i never heard of
