they also fed on allied soldiers in prison camps. There are quite a few terror stories of prisons with about 80 allied soldiers and at the end of a few weeks only one would be left. The air was described as smelling of seared human flesh and seasoning, as the soldiers would cut flesh from the soldiers while they were still alive and sear it over a fire before eating it.

Japanese also did not recognize the Geneva convention and did not believe in giving any human rights to the soldiers they captured.

I dont think the fact food supplies were running short gives someone the right to slice the flesh off a currently living human and then cook and eat it in front of him.

>No one, even to this day, cares about the Geneva convention seriously so yeah. (I know my WW2 like the back of my hand)

>If you have nothing to eat and you are starving to death and you know that you have been cut off from supply lines there is one thing left to do, eat the remains of the fallen or those who are about to die of mortal wounds anyway.

They were not fallen or about to die of mortal wounds. They were allied soldiers they captured and tortured and fed upon.

I don't know how you can even try to rationalize that atrocious act of inhumanity. The fact the soldier were alive while they had the flesh torn from their bones is another thing. If the soldiers were already dead then go do what ever. But these soldiers were captured, tortured and then had their flesh cut from them while they screamed for help. They watched their own flesh be cooked and eaten in front of them while they slowly bled to death on a cutting board

There is no way to rationalize that utter act of debauchery. Nothing condones that act of brutal inhumanity.

Are you even for real?
Please, I am talking about Japanese soldiers cannibalizing on other Japanese soldiers that were dead or mortally wounded.

'Brutal act of inhumanity' during a world war, yeah please just no. Both sides omitted atrocious crimes, but they did it to win a war (Ok, except for a few war crimes that really are not excusable) but if you got to eat to survive you got to do what you got to do.
Morals don't mean shit in a war like the second world war.

Fire bombing of tokyo and the Nuclear bombs killed some people too. I don't think anyone has clean hands when It comes to war, that being said, Unit 731 did some horrible shit.
