A very similar thing happened to me when I watched an anime called D. Gray Man. I watched it on netflix, and found out that the last season wasn't licensed and it was only subbed. It took me a while to get over the fact that the main character sounded like a gril

I can't do it either, whether from sub to dub or dub to sub. Doesn't sound right.

I've never had a problem with going from dubs to subs. I had to do that with Naruto and One Piece. Before I joined Crunchyroll I refused to watch anything that wasn't dubbed though because I started watching anime dubbed with stuff like Toonami, Adult Swim and whatever it was that One Piece used to come on back in the day. Like way back in the day. The one with the terrible dub. Ah, this is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaYJEyu53wk

Nowadays I obviously prefer subtitles because a series will always be subbed before it gets dubbed, but I also recognize that the character is still the character regardless of which version you're watching.. that said, I started watching Psycho Pass in English recently and I plan on watching the second season in Japanese with subtitles afterwards.

The first time i watched sub was for bleach. I was like on ep:80 dubbed and had to wait every week for a new episode to release. It had subbed episodes upto 189 and so started watching the sub. Glad i liked it and from then on, i have watched every anime in Sub.

I've got no problems switching from sub to dub. Even if it has some of my favourite VAs from both sides.

Many moons ago I would always watch anime dubbed also, it's tough getting used to subs, however I don't think your problem has to do with language or sub vs dub, I think your problem has to do with you getting used to hearing the characters talk a certain way for hours on end and then drastically switching their voices. No wonder it isn't going to sound right.

Personally, I just watch everything subbed now, because I know that I'll want to watch the new seasons and episodes of shows as soon as they come out and not wait for a dubbed version. (SAO, for example.)

Plus, I like to hear things in their original form.
