I guess League would be considered bullying but think about the tension and rage.

I don't think so.. though I do come across a lot of rude people, but hey, this IS the internet so I don't take it personal.

Yeah, someone on Instagram told me I was ugly, fat, and told me to die :P

I get this often haha. I also get a lot of hate because my skin tone is lighter (and as such, I must think certain things or feel blessed by the almighty).
It's mostly the ugly thing, or just random dumb people that make no sense at all.
It honestly doesn't bother me much, other than really make me concerned for the future of the world.

Yeah I have been cyber-bullied by some douchebag on Youtube back in August of 2011. That was nearly 3 years ago.

Woah, you actually even remember when you got bullied and through what means on the internet? That's some serious grudge you got there

I never got bullied but I know I made several people on this website nuke their account cause of trolling either flaming them too harsh

Well it is hard to forget something as severe as the bullying I received.

I've only been lifting for the last year or so. And even then it was never too serious because I don't have the equipment to be serious about it. I do look like I lift quite much right now for my age but I still was never bullied as a kid.

Didn't even know this was a thing. There might have been some attempts, but seriously, i was under the impression that everyone expected to get crap at some point while on the internet. If you don't like what you read, just literary walk away from it. If someone wants me to take their bullying seriously, they better do it straight to my face.

I've been heckled and threatened, actually got death threats in Battle Pirates because I soloed a sector and a peon wanted to go comms warrior and he was too small for me to hit. Another case, someone who was big enough for me to hit threatened our leader and me, I leveled him until he stopped playing. In World of Tanks, I tend to just get cussed a lot because I tend to pick tanks that if they hit you, they will end your game on the spot. Pissed off two members of the top clans in the game for one shotting tanks that were decidedly not supposed to be that easy to kill, but if you know where to aim, and RNJesus smiles on you, you can do some very, very evil things.

Interesting, when I saw this post my first thought was that he was being stupid by dismissing the victims of "cyber bullying" but it seems a lot of people agree with what he actually said.

I don't think merely being abusive or unpleasant to someone is bullying since the term "bullying" implies continuous (and usually targeted) abuse. Being horrible to people is still horrible but it's not so difficult to forgive and forget. There's no need to be unpleasant to each other, you just have to try and be self aware and accept that people will sometimes make mistakes. If you don't care about other people's feelings then there's no need to hurt them and if you enjoy hurting people then you're a bad person (well, with exceptions for consensual pain and those who enjoy it but don't act on that). It's usually fairly simple.

As for bullying, it's totally unacceptable. If you find yourself constantly annoyed with someone and with a desire to hurt them then you should really be trying to avoid that person or figure out what it is that bothers you rather than just attacking them all the time (destroying them might seem like an easy solution but you're at least as likely to get hurt yourself). If you are a bully then you have a problem and should try to deal with it or seek help if you need it.

Blaming the victims is totally unacceptable too. It's easy to say "they should just..." but maybe you don't really understand their situation. It's nice if you're legitimately trying to help but it's best that you understand the person and situation and try to make sure you really are helping rather than making things worse. If someone is bullying you on a particular site then just avoiding it seems like an obvious solution but you shouldn't have to give up your freedom simply because someone is abusing you. That would just make it worse and make the bully feel that they can do whatever they want. A victim shouldn't be punished and should feel entitled to help if they need it.

People should try to be aware and understanding. If we actually take the time to think about things then we can avoid a lot of problems. As I said, it's usually fairly simple. Don't be a bully and don't accept bullying if you see it.

I think some of you are taking trolling and cyber-bullying and mixing them up.
