I've encountered many whose arrogance lead them to believe that defending themselves and way they think is absolutely necessary... However, showing indifference or just leaving the conversation before it becomes an actual problem are quick solutions towards the "defense" type of cyber-bullying.

Of course, I don't know if my methods truly work for everyone as I have only met with few online bullies. It's also a bit difficult to find whether the person is actually being a bully or not in my case, and when I do try to figure it out, they end up almost becoming bullies in the process; thus leading me to use one of my aforementioned solutions listed above.

The internet is a weird place, but there's really no helping it.

I can't say I have to be honest. Cyberbulling is easy prevented by ignoring the person bothering you or blocking them. When you keep entertaining the idea you prolong it. If someone is attacking/bothering you no one is forcing you to reply back. Just hint the block button or opinion B walk away from the screen.

i had someone make a video about me when i was in grade 8, and they put it up on facebook. it was basically a 30 minute video of them trash talking me and talking shit about me. most of everyone in school saw it. i got revenge for it though. grinded his face against a wall breaking his nose, then i punched him in the throat.

After that, i never got bullied, on the internet or in real life.

I also learned the magic of "anger management classes". The kid deserved it though.. the stuff he said..was really messed up.

I don't believe there is such a thing called cyber bullying, just weak people who can't deal with being "made fun of"? on the internet.

Just my take on the whole subject. Reason there is a mute/block/ignore button in games & social media.

Just want people to feel sorry for them or something.

Someone could go tell me to die a few times online and it wouldn't bother me a bit.

I don't believe in cyber bullying. I think the thing as a whole is dumb.

Does being an extremely toxic player in games count? Then yeah I'm a bully.

I was bullied in person, not online. I do, however, understand that it has become a big problem now in days. At the same time it's pretty interesting to learn how times have changed.

Edit: I'm actually pretty disgusted by the comments on this thread. Bullying is bullying no matter what form it comes in. End of story. I have no idea why people think it's okay to bully others and support people who do so.

Im pretty sure I made some dude cry on Worldstar Hip Hop. He was making fun of Robin Willams suicide and I said the following

1."You are the definition of "asshole." "
2."You should kill yourself to end the misery of those who are unfortunate enough to be around you."
3."You cause people to abuse drugs and overdose."
4."You are a worthless piece of shit. "
5."You are the prime reason why people get depressed."
6."You are unlikeable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikeable loner whose passing shall not be mourned. Shall not be mourned. "
7."You are the root of all evil. If you were to kill yourself, corruption in the government would come to an end."
8."You cause depression, anxiety and mental sickness of others"
9."You should shut the fuck up; nothing what you say is worth anything."
10."You are responsible for every single devastating atrocity that occurred throughout all humankind."
11."You are the reason why there is suffering in this world."

No regrets. Had to welcome him to the internet the "old fashioned" way. /B style

I've only been cyber-bullied in middle school. It was by these nasty people from my school. But it finally stopped after I found the one who was doing it and confronted her head on. I was expecting it to be ten times worse in person, but she was so nervous and speechless. She apologized to me, and reluctantly, I forgave her.

People probably cyber-bully because they're too cowardly to say things to you in person. It gives them more power. And even if it's vice versa or all around, they're still an asshole.

With cyber-bullying, you can say you can "just walk away from it", but it's not that easy. Some people can ruin your life just by spreading rumors throughout the internet about you, or spreading an inappropriate picture of you meant for someone in private. It's really not cool. The sender of that picture is not at fault for that, too, and if any of you'z are going to argue with me about that, I won't respond.

Luckily I never used Facebook or any other social media site while I was in high school, so I've only had to deal with random Internet trolls which are much easier to handle.

I have never been cyber bullied or bullied IRL, though the way i see it, it is a joke. I seen it when i was in high school and always thought "how is it affecting this person i don't get it". The person bullying the other kid isn't your friend and will never be, so why the hell do you care so much on what he/she says and or does to you? I really never understood it. For me I don't give a flying F what other people think of me. Maybe that's the reason why i never understood it. Friends are the only thing that mattered everyone else can kiss my arse, maybe i'm just an a hole??? LOL

I handled my real life bullying encounter in a similar way. Stabbing the kid in the head repeatedly with a pencil and sending him to the office with a hole in his head. I was such a good student too that I didn't even get in trouble for it. The teachers and students alike congratulated me, as the derp who messed with me really made life difficult for everyone. Other people backed off very quickly after that.

Violence probably isn't something to encourage. But standing up for yourself really can go a long way.

I wish I had that in me back then. I got bullied when I was a kid, probably because I was little shy, little smaller than others and didn't stand for myself. It pretty much broke my morale for long time and I felt very weak as a person. It took few years of gym and doing military service to get that crap out of me and to feel good about myself. If I had been strong back then like you I would have avoided many years of that crap.
