Hey guys, I'm just curious to know how many other anime fans also listen to Heavy Metal music.

I just went to the Heavy Montreal festival on Saturday and had the privilege of seeing Babymetal and Metallica amongst many other great bands.

Which bands do you guys like?

Metal is a pretty broad genre and encompasses many nerdily-named subgenres.

Babymetal is a j-pop group with extreme metal influences. The closest thing I can think of would be Blood Stain Child, which is a Japanese death metal band with electronic dance elements:

Metallica is a classic thrash metal band that has recently moved more in the "hard rock" direction of things. If you want classic thrash, check out Testament, Slayer , or Megadeth:

Been listening to alot of Arch Enemy's new album War Eternal along with
Ghost B.C. - Infestissumam, Opus Eponymous
Gwar - entire discography
Cradle Of Filth - Nymphetamine
Lamb Of God - entire discography
Dog Fashion Disco - Adultery, Committed to a bright future
Tyr - entire discography
Ensiferum- entire discography
I still believe A7X's only album that was worth listening to was Awaken the Fallen.
Metal is a weird genre for me

Yup. Let's see what I can remember from off the top of my head.

Machine Head
Slayer
Skeletonwitch
Death
Cannibal Corpse
Darkthrone
Mercyful Fate
Dying Fetus
Suffocation
Deicide
Metallica
Megadeth
Testament
Sabaton
Lamb of God
Pantera
Venom
Mayhem
Celtic Frost
Crowbar
Black Witchery
Apokalyptic Raids
Battlestorm
Misery Index
Eluvetie

I don't listen to as much metal as I used to, but I still get down with it every day or so.

I'm more of a progressive metal / math metal type person. Not so much into metalcore or heavy metal like I used to be.

But here's a nice, heavily abridged list:
Converge
Deftones
The Dillinger Escape Plan
The Fall of Troy
Mastodon
Opeth
Periphery
Protest the Hero
SikTh
TesseracT

Used to be my bread and butter, still kind of is. But slowly replacing it with more techno and indie... Plus I need to restore my classic rock collection lol. Been too long since I had my Rush and Zeppelin songs

I've heard some of their stuff but it was really off-putting when I first heard it and I haven't given it many other shots lol. The band their drummer was in before, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, I like that band when I'm in the mood for it. The drumming's great in the song "Grandfather."
