Scared of driving. So...still don't have it and I'm 27. I really need to force myself to get over it though and get it done.

Hooray! I'm not alone!

I got mine when I was 16. I would be soooooooooo so so fucked, if I didn't have a license. WA transit is pitiful. I'm extremely jealous of you people who don't need a car. Hmmph!

I just got mine recently. I just didn't feel like it was all that necessary and honestly driving made me really nervous (and still does to an extent). Took me forever to find an opening for an appointment once I decided I was ready to take the test, however.

You're far from the only one who wouldn't have gotten your license right away at 16. I've met more and more people who have waited until graduating high school or even university and later.

I never heard of a country where you can get your driver's license at the age of 15. I got my driver's license at the age of 18, but I haven't been driving since I was 19 (I haven't driven a car during the past five years). So I must renew my driver's license some time in the near future in order to continue driving again.

18. Not as liberating as people make it out to be, although it spares one from the time consumption and agony of public transit.

I never had any motivation to keep driving after I was 19 because I could just use the bus to get to anywhere in town. Plus, I could just bike to whereever I wanted in down. I just biked or took the bus to the university I went to.

I think I was 14? I took a test when I was 14 and had a card that lasted a year or something.

Then I got an actual permit or something at 15 that lasted until I was 17 I think, then I got a license when I turned 18, and renewed when I turned 21.

Over here, each state individually determines the qualifying age--it's not a national limit. Sadly, most states raised the qualifying age under federal pressure to do so, decades ago. Which is to say, I could not now have gotten my license at 15. I guess that being an old fart has occasional advantages, no?

Well here in Canada I think you have to sixteen years old to get a driver's license, regardless of which province you live in. By the way, it is pretty rare to find an anime fan who is 44 years old. Most anime fans I know are under the age of 30.
