The original Strange+ was a short, funny, slightly uncomfortable series that had a severe case of ADHD. It followed the members of the Mikuni Detective agency and their ridiculous cases. With extremely frenetic dialogue, lightning fast gags and quick scene transitions they filled up 3 minutes with some of the most ridiculous stories I have seen to date. The characters were simple but fun whether it is the dour Masamune, the pretty boy Kou, or Kou's older brother Takumi who looks like a 14 year old girl. There were quite a bit of uncomfortable moments where they had some pervy stuff with Takumi and the show seems to think that butts are the funniest things in the world but overall I ended up loving the frantic pace and the show's inability to sit still even for a moment. Shin Strange+ is more of the same, and I am glad for it.

Shin Strange+ starts off with a very (and I do mean very) quick explanation of the backstory so far. It was completely unnecessary and is subject to a joke immediately afterward. This new season also introduces Nana, an incredibly tall woman who has a connection with Kou and Takami. Nana eventually joins them in the Mikuni Detective agency and now the show has another set of gags they can exploit. So far the Mikuni Detective agencies cases (if you can call them that really) have ranged from breaking up a gang to helping out at a school play. Random is the arc word for the series and the subject for each episode seems to follow no rhyme or reason at all. Many of the episodes don't even have a case and are simply the agency getting into shenanigans. Still, it is a whole lot of fun to watch.

Overall Shin Strange+ is a great bit of fun, frantic comedy that is great to just turn your brain off and just try to keep up. If you liked the original, you'll like this one too and if you didn't like the original this one won't change your mind. If you are still on the fence about it after reading this I'd say give it a shot, even if you watched every episode currently up and ended up disliking it you've only wasted 15 minutes. That's not even an episode of Bleach. However, if you like it you may end up rewatching it repeatedly since it is so easy to fill up any dead space with these bite-sized episodes.
