Wow. The new Crunchyroll app for Roku is unusable. It is appearing very little testing was done. Key points after testing it for like 10 minutes.

You can't remove a show from your queue. I would have to log in on my computer and remove it there.

You can't see or select other episodes of show in your queue besides the latest one. What if I want to go back and watch episode one of a show in my queue? To bad.

I'm sure I'll find more.

In order to remove it or watch a different episode
You have to either search for the anime or find it in the list and press the * and go from there

But I feel your pain


And didn't notice it before but as some have posted
There being no start from beginning is a real bother
As well as the skip ahead and not a frame by frame.
Since alot of the time I'll rewatch a episode for a certain scene...
However, I don't know exactly when those scenes are and that made it easier to find them.
But now can't do that.

As previously stated. Feels like a downgrade from the old UI in pretty much everyones opinion

Great job, just about everything is fine, it's not horrid or unusable... except there's no way to choose a different episode from what is currently selected in the queue. Why not have the queue index work like the show index... so we can select a specific episode, bring up the show info, and add/remove from queue, within the queue. That's the single biggest issue.

Also, why not have a wrap-around queue? The fastforward and reverse buttons should be used to quickly skip back and forth in the queue, instead of just going to the end or beginning, which isn't very useful at all if you think about it. Especially to reach anything near the middle. (Same goes for the show indexes.)

The animated (growing/shrinking) thumbnails look nice, but only after going past a show in the list to load the animations. The first time you pass/select a show, the thumbnail animation stutters! It makes scrolling thru the list feel clunky! Either pre-load all the animations so it scrolls smoothly the first time, or get rid of this "feature" and have simple, single-sized thumbnails as you scroll. Because the growing and shrinking is really just useless eye candy.

The navigation isn't very intuitive either, like why do I hit the play button to bring up the main menu? The 'back' button would be much better for this; it doesn't even have a function assigned to it on that screen. One more minor gripe: why are there two different ways to bring up the info screen in the show index? You can either press and hold OK, or press *. We don't need two ways to do that.

Thanks for the update, and for putting up with our griping about it. :lol:

EDIT: One more big issue. After watching an episode from the queue, there's no simple and super-effective way to go to the next episode. That's gonna get fixed, right?

I guess I get the idea of havng the queue go straight to what the queue thinks is the latest series but ... sometimes its wrong, and just like before, it doesn't update when you finish, not without leaving the channel and coming back, so if you finish an episode, there's no easy way to go to the next episode if you started it in the queue.

What you should have is a row between queue and history for "queue series", with the queue and queue series staying in sync, so if you go down from the current queue episode, you have the series entry, and if you enter it, the episode list and other series page options are right there, without havng to go through search or the browse function for a series already in your queue.

But is it 720P or 1080P ? I'm stuck at my sister's house untl tomorrow nite . We were watching Toradora just fine yesterday (and laughing our butts off) . Now I installed the update & we cannot watch anything , her speed is waaayyyy too slow ! Going to try to get her to up it tomorrow . AT&T rips off DSL customers . She's paying $44.00 a month for less than 1.5 meg ! ! BTY , everybody quit wining < we finally got HD ! They will work out the kinks . Now if I could get HD on my Samsung blur-ay player ...

Ugh. Found another problem. Watched an episode of one of my shows and after it finished it just stayed on that episode, even tho there was a new one after that. I often wait for two episode on current simulcast shows. There was no way to go to the next show, I tried exiting and going back in, etc. So instead I had to exit my queue. Search for the show in browse, then select the next episode there. Why even have a queue if you can't do anything from it except watch the same episode over and over?

HD, awesome! I do up they address the complaints people are having. I haven't had much time to navigate around the new channel but I see what the people are saying. Being able to go to the shows page, or select a specific episode of a show, from your queue would be great.

edit: Just finished an episode, and as others have said the queue doesn't update. It only updated after I left the channel and went to the Roku home screen. Quite annoying.

I do not care much for the new app, but I seldom watch anime anyway. What I really wish you would do is fix the Kdrama.com app. It does not reflect what is shown on the web version at all - in fact it is basically just the old CrunchyRoll app with a different name. It shows the same shows as the old CR app, but none of the NEW k-dramas except what is listed on the CR app.

In fact I am not even sure what I am paying for, since I have both a CrunchyRoll and a Kdrama account.

That is pretty horrible speed. I get Cox internet cable at over 100mbps for only $15 more.

According to at&t site she should be able to get 6meg download for about 48 dollars. I pay half that for my 6meg at different ISP with no throttle guaranty. Neither of us can get fiber.
