Hello everyone, I would like to share my experience and thoughts on the Roku app since that is my preferred platform. The experience isn't completely negative, but it's not been incredibly positive either.

I am currently using 2 Roku XS's & a new model Roku 3. The image quality from the Roku 3 is usually quite nice.
Having said that, the Roku app just isn't consistently reliable and it's a bit glitchy.

There are definitely some stability and usability issues with the app: Occasional crashes to main menu, black screens instead of streaming episodes, stuck percentage counters when streaming, inaccurate FF & RW, and the occasional poor video quality are among the annoying ones.

I have a clean, low latency 60MB down and 8MB up internet connection and I'm a retired network & computer systems engineer. I know it's not my connection or equipment. I never had any of these issues with the old app.

I REALLY need to use the FF and RW while viewing thumbnails like the last app had since this app typically loses track of our viewing progress or throws us back to the main Roku menu. This "View-as-you-FF-or-RW" feature would make it possible to get back into your current play position.

I am a long-time premium member and have had a number of CR tickets opened, but no satisfactory resolution to my concerns yet.

One example is that on each ticket, I comment that I'm not using a PC but am using my ROKU set-top box. Support responds: "Please go into your pc's internet browser and clear your cache; update your browser; go to crunchyroll.com and watch a video to see if this helps." We need good Roku support.

I have worked with Roku support too on this and have even factory reset my boxes a number of times requiring significant reconfig time. The Roku 3 (new version) does run better than all the other models but they all still exhibit weird, clunky, lag-like behavior while "in-app". I get absolutely no malfunction or glitch in any of my other apps (Netflix, Amazon, ...etc. ...etc.)

I believe it would make an awful lot of people happier with the CR offering if you treated the Roku app interface like all other streaming media companies do and stick to the standardized UI of browsing and playing video with the Roku.

The bottom line: I am a CR Fan...I'm not going to leave. I love your selection of videos. I enjoy my CR and my family uses this app as our primary means of entertainment in our home so I would like to add my voice to the others who've posted before me and request an app update to address the concerns. I do like the HQ look of the new app and the larger photo views but it is just so awkward to use and counter intuitive. I've been using it since release day and it's still weird and glitchy.

Any chance you could allow stop and wind back on commercials? They flash too fast no time to read.

Complete newbie, but curiously I've noticed I've added shows to my Queue to watch on the Roku App(using the HDMI streaming stick) and more then 50% of the time my queue only contains the shows I've already watched, and none of the shows i added to my queue. Is this normal?

There's a bug they haven't fixed yet...

Go to last show in /home/queue, pop it to the top (arrow to the left of show icon), then refresh the page. Repeat if needed, if it recurs. Not a fix, but a temporary workaround that may need to be re-done again every few days.

I just got my new Roku 3 yesterday and Love to have Crunchy Roll on it. You guys rock.

I did notice though I can't seem to find an area to change subtitles next to the episodes. Just like on the website. Will this be include in the next update?

Set the default here and it should play that on the Roku, too, if available in your preferred language... /acct/?action=video
