Yeah I'm waiting for the day that the relationships among countries in Asia are as good as the European ones. I know that while hanging out with English, French, German, and other euros that we can joke and talk shit about the war and everyone is still laughing and enjoying themselves. But when you talk with people from Asia you just get this feeling that the war still affects them to a certain degree.

Whereas here, we get excited when s/he cluelessly strip-mines Asian pop-culture for his/her own publicity without really having the faintest idea what it's about...

(Sorry, with that new NYC law, I didn't know which pronoun to use...)

I'm white and and loads of people think I'm Spanish. Like, to the point that they start talking to me in Spanish before asking. It's a little awkward, but I don't hate them for it.

From what I heard, Japan doesn't hate Korea. Some Japanese people really dislike Chinese or Russian people, especially the right wing politicans. Maybe American too.

I'm hoping for that day South Korea and Japan just stop making a big deal out of it. I do wish Japan can learn from Germany, but I doubt that'll happen as long as the LDP is active.

Well the Zaitokukai still exist in Japan, they haven't disbanded yet.

Probably split on Korea no pun intended. The northern half is closer to them. Other than that, I don't know. S.Korea is rather a nice place tbh.

There are too many reasons to care about this subject.
There is absolutely no way it is possible to cover every single reason for why Japan hates Korea.
Perspectives can range from first person view, politics, history, or trend to ETC.
For all people know Japan tend to be a bit more judgy when it comes to looking at people who are NOT japanese.

If I recall, it had something to do with "comfort women". Which - historically- involved the Japanese taking Korean women, prostituting and raping them, heinous things along those lines. The reasons are various, and perspective varies depending on who you're talking to, but the tensions between the nations of Japan, China, and Korea alike seem to have arisen from crimes committed during wartime.

I'm not familar with Japanese history, but didn't Japan keep Korean comfort women during the second World War as well? And basically doesn't give no fucks, like they've done with the Chinese?

It is my understanding that all distinct asian peoples hate all other asian peoples. (Koreans hate japanese, japanese hate chinese, and all vice versa, etc.)

This also seems to be the case with varieties of hispanic people. (dominicans hate puerto ricans, puerto ricans hate mexicans, mexicans hate spaniards, and all vice versa, etc.)

This of course greatly pleases me, as hatred is the sustenance by which I manage to continue my existence.
