It seems like they've gone for updating the look instead of ease of navigation. Really, it looks great, but it is one of the least user friendly things I've ever come across. Navigation is horrible, the queue is horrible, the fact they've actually taken options away is....just incredible. Add onto that the fact that I, among many, can no longer play any videos. It's such a joke, and I can't see that anything is being done to rectify it.

I also really hate the new update. It's too hard to watch more than just one episode (have to look for it or search for the anime instead of just loading the series up on my queue?) and it's just plain broken too often. Far too many videos fail to load properly.

One more vote for the old app to be returned. The new one is terrible. I'll be canceling my subscription soon if it doesn't go back. I can get most of these shows on Hulu. But I preferred Crunchyroll because it was so much easier to search shows. Not anymore so not much reason to continue to pay for it.

The horrid interface is the same in the pS3 app except with waaaaay less options. This is horrendous and is no way 'updated'. How do you even call up other episodes for a series in you queue? I might as well use my ps3 to watch cause it had continuous play at least. Now my harmony remote programming wont even work properly with the roku crunchyroll app! It keeps skipping over every other item in my queue!

I really hope they fix (revert back) this "Updated" app. Its become very annoying to operate this interface, coming from an app that was set up beautifully makes it worse. Hopefully they will do something or at least inform us of a fix soon, otherwise I'm not sure if i will keep this service. If I'm going to use my pc to watch anime...there are other choices out there

I created an account just to say this new interface is horrid, I guess people say it had to be done to allow HD but honestly these are cartoons we're talking about the difference in 1080p vs. 320p is minimal give me the old app back in SD anyday.

I first go into the app and get an ad which gives me the choice of either choosing a free trial premium membership OR to learn more about a premium membership. How do I get out of this, looks like my choices are either to go premium or learn about premium there is no skip and continue. So I hit Home and go through the process again. This time, no ad. Wasted time.

Then I try to find Fairy Tale, not what it used to be. When I find it, I have to scroll through the episodes trying to find the one I left off on. Previously if I saw resume I knew I saw it. Now how can I tell I don't know. When I think I'm where I left off I pick the episode and I'm greeted by an ad or two, then I watch the beginning intro to the anime, then followed by another ad or two, finally after 5 minutes the episode really begins and oh I've seen it. I go back, choose a few over, go through the whole 5 minute spiel to see if I've seen the episode, and if I have or not I have to go back rinse and repeat. I've now spent 30 minutes watching 1-2 ads, the intro credits, then 1-2 ads, finally getting to see the episode and realize oh yeah I've seen this one. What's the last episode I saw?

Where's the recommendations, genre's, repeat episode, or for the love of God give me a means to know where I left off. 30 minutes, that's how long I've now spent trying to figure out what episode I left off on fairy tale has 175 episodes in season 1 think it's easy for me to remember what number episode I left off on?

So frustrated it's simply unusable in its current form. I have an idea, allow premium members to get the old interface back you've convinced me it's worth paying premium for it this new interface makes crunchyroll simply unuseable and as such I can't use this new interface it's pretty pointless. I'm signing off and will try every couple weeks to see if the interface has changed I'm not fighting with this one anymore.

I must agree, revert the app!

If you want to fix this app, revert to the old one first (unless you have a fix in the next hour).
Also, I do not like going to each Roku device to "register" it again. Especially when the reward is an app like this.

I had more options when I was using the app for free (before I entered my code) - wow!

I didn't think a worse app could come out than the one for YouTube when they finally allowed new Roku owners to watch YouTube. Though the new app allows for some options, the old YouTube app was better (my opinion). Now this...

Is this to try to get the Roku boxes in line with Roku TVs when they are released? Well it is bad news.

I won't repeat what everyone else has posted. Just to sum it up, the navigation and user interface is atrocious.

I hope someone at CrunchyRoll is reading these comments because you have a lot of unhappy customers.

If you don't do something about it soon then you are going to lose a lot of customers.

Yep, I have nothing to add but I also agree. This is the WORST update I've ever seen and a huge step backwards. I thought I'd done something wrong and gotten to a strange developer mode or something. Please give us our old working interface back.

This update is TERRIBLE. It's difficult to view show information, and I don't like the layout of the episodes.

I hope they bring back the old app, or fix this mess ASAP.

Add my vote to reverting the app.

My internet connection isn't the best, but I was able to stream just fine with the old app. Now, the video pauses every 5 seconds to buffer! I'm a premium member, but I can't watch anything on Crunchyroll anymore. Honestly, if this doesn't change soon, then I'm going to have to cancel my membership. I just can't justify paying for a video service that I can no longer use.

Something that might help the situation is to allow us to change the settings for video quality. That way, I could knock the video quality down to 780p or SD and watch something.

Another option would be to allow us to select how much of the video is buffered before playing. I can deal with a longer, initial loading time if it allows me to actually watch an episode without interruption.

I'm not going to complain about the interface itself, except to voice a few suggestions for the new interface.

1) Browse by genre. This was great, in the previous interface, and I can't see any real reason to do away with it. Being able to browse by genre is what has kept me coming back to Crunchyroll. I honestly do not want to flip through every anime, in alphabetical order, trying to find something that just LOOKS to be in the genres that I like or feel like watching.

2) You have where we can look at the episode list of a show, when we are just browsing (alphabetically), but there is no option to do so with the queue. What would be nice to have is if we could hit the option button and select the episode list and then select either resume or play from the beginning.

Aside from these 3 issues, I don't have any other complaints. I can get used to a new interface, but the current interface only serves to reduce the functionality of the app (which is a HUGE step back).

Well. After sending a second message and getting a reply that left much to be desired, I created a poll/thread asking users whether they would like the Roku app to revert back to the old one, which was immediately locked and closed by bjaker. It seems I am also unable to create new posts now.

You can tell how much they care about their customer's opinions.

It's the third poll that I locked and closed.

I do not feel like a poll is adding anything at all to help us fix / address issues.

It's very clear that people are unhappy.

If you think we do not understand this, then you're quite mistaken.

Also, I have no idea why you can't create new posts. Are you getting error messages? If yes, what does it say?

Bjaker, I have CR on both my Roku and my PS3. I prefer using Roku because I had the option of browsing Genre list with titles which helped me discover many great animes I didnt know about, and I loved the episode lists, and the "ability" to go to the next episode without having to log out entirely from CR multiple times before I can get to the next episode. My only question is when is this going to get fixed (being able to go to next episode) and will we able to have genre list browsing option again instead of searching for titles, your response will be appreciated.
