This thread is dedicated to posting what you're working on (or finishing). Drawing up plans? Great! Snapping pictures of potential fabrics? Fantastic! Share what you're up to, how you're doing it, what materials you used.. however much or little you'd like, even just pictures of your progress.

Multi-posting IS allowed in this thread, but please try to keep it under control if possible. That is - if no one else is posting, feel free to post again if you have updates, but don't post a bunch all at once if you can avoid it.

Have fun!

To kick things off, here's some Sword Art Online swords I've been working on, slowly..

They're carved in layers of MDF, and I'm coating them in Smooth-On plastic to seal the wood and get a clean surface for painting. Once they're fully coated and sanded, I'll paint them and ship them off (except for those I hang on my wall )

I use various colors of dye in the plastic resin so I can make sure I've covered the entire surface with each coat. I try to end on black because it's a great base color for chrome or other paints, but I don't always manage that properly...

Here's the 3D models for the swords.. they're not that great, but feel free to use them if you can!

I haven't taken any progress pictures yet as I haven't gotten far enough along for one, but I'm currently working on making Princess Aurora's blue dress from Sleeping beauty. I decided to make it out of a basic cotton so it would remain lightweight since it doesn't have any straps or anything to hold it up, lol. I'm hoping to get the skirt done soon, then I'll be able to take a progress pic =3

I have a few projects I'm working on right now.

Right now my big ones are Nakamori Aoko from "Magic Kaito" - which hit a major snag because the sailor fuku I ordered is too small for me, so now I have to find somebody to sell it to and pick up a new one (which means waiting another three weeks for it to show up) - and I'm making a generic Green Lantern. I'm trying to pull of Dean Venture too, but let's see where that goes.

I usually do a female!Tim Drake - but I want to make some improvements to it, so hopefully I'll be able to fit those into my budget as well.

Working on World of Warcraft costumes for Halloween, but for the Anime LA, I'm working on Arrietty cosplay for my daughter. I already have her pin made and then I need to work on her dress.

I'm going to my 2nd convention soon and cosplaying for the first time. I was lucky enough to get the materials for my cosplay at the last minute. I'll be Akatsuki Tobi from Naruto. For my next, I'm planning on going Trafalgar Law from One Piece.

I'm currently working on this third dimension drawing for school and art club applications

I've been working on it for a total of two months now. It's going to take a while but at the end it will all be worth it. (I hope)

Just watched UtaKoi and though it is not the best anime in the world those Heian era clothes tempt me. I'm starting to put together Sei Shounagon's outfit -

I have kimono "underwear" for the initial white layer, and I've located red hakama to buy. I've made a kimono before (pretty simple pattern) but the sleeve style does slightly worry me...I won't make all the layers - probably two. Now do people reckon I should shorten the clothes a little so they touch the ground but don't drag in a train for a foot behind me?

ok well this was our dress rehearsal for my daughter's outfit. Granted its not anime but its still cosplay to me as I don't just buy them any old costume out there. She is dressed up as Lili Stormstout from World of Warcraft. Let me know if you think it needs any last minute tweaks.

So cute!

I think the outfit looks great as it is. If you wanted, adding a wrap to the palms might work, but it looks clean the way it is, so honestly I'd leave them. How'd you make the staff?

The staff is made from a pvc pipe I got from work and then I connected via glue and duck tape the pole to the green wreath you can find at the hobby stores. I even cut and opening to put a batter pack for the rings, which glow! The green rings are painted with a translucent paint on again the styrofoam rings used for wreaths. I then paper mache the whole staff and then painted it. The red is just ribbons. I can put up a better photo of the staff if you like with the glowing as well. It took a while to make, but lots of fun.

My friend and I are about to do our first cosplay shoot, woohoo. Right now she is getting ready. We chose to do something simple and with little to no cost on our part as our first shoot. We are doing Lucy from Elfen Lied in the torn hospital bandages. Most of these photos will have heavy photoshop editing, we are going with no wig but changing hair in editing process and editing in the head pieces along with the vectors. Cost wise i already have the software for doing what i need and we just tore up a really long piece of white fabric i had on hand to make the bandages. I will be posting first the unedited raw photos in hope i can get some feed back and ideas before i start to run them through the wringer.
