I've never been there so I'm not really sure without doing some research first. But I'd probabaly do a lot of sight seeing and stock up on figures and Japanes video games that I've wanted to get for a while.

Haven't been to Akihabara but I have seen enough of it in anime to say that my favourite memory would be the maid cafes and the arcades.

Prefer Vita version!

I would definitely try visiting a maid cafe first. It is something I have always wanted to try despite how uncomfortable it may make me. I would also scour shops for whatever obscure figures I could find. My girlfriend and I would definitely try enjoying the night life there.

My first stop would be to the Tales of Store. I would press my face up against the glass and stair at it's glory for a few hours before heading inside. Assuming money wasn't a thing to worry about, I would buy everything that carried the Vesperia and Abyss name. Plus a everything that has Sophie(Graces), Colette(Symphonia), and Arche(Phantasia) likeness. Afterwords, I'm off on a pilgramiage to find all the shops that Konata (Lucky Star) visited and find as much of the Lucky Star items I can get. But, I'll be damned if I leave that beautiful place without anything from Dog Days! I would also require a few more body pillows from Heaven's Lost Property. The one I got at NDK2012 isn't enough and my bed looks empty with just the one there. If there is enough time left in the day, I would find as many Mami Kawada(noticed from Shakugan no Shana), Aya Hirano(noticed from Melancholy of Haruhi and Lucky Star), and LiSA(noticed from Angel Beats) albums that I can because those girls ROCK HARDCORE! My time there would be a thing of absolute joy! To that holy ground of otaku the world over, I must go! Till that time, I sit here in my room... planning.

And, never been to Akiba before, but, I would just book straight to all the Maid cafes I would find and just spend hours there, and take pictures of anything that'd I would find interesting. I'd hit the arcades, anime and manga stores, and of course the restaurants they would have around. It would be a worthwhile experience.

I've never been to Akihabara before. Although I've always dreamed of going there, especially Japan. I'm very interested in Japanese culture, especially anime, manga, and light novels. If I ever get a chance to visit Akihabara, I would probably decide to stay there for a few weeks or maybe a month or two, possibly more. I'd go visit stores that sell anime and purchase my favorite series. I'd go to a bookstore and purchase manga and light novels that catch my interest. I'm very curious about maid cafes and how they operate, because it seemed very interesting in the anime that I've watched. I believe there were arcades in Akiba as well. I'd probably go to each one to find a favorite game of mine! If it was Akiba, I wouldn't be too embarrassed to wear shirts that had anime characters on them, unlike in America where it's pretty awkward to do so in my area. Going to Akiba would also be a perfect chance to allow me to practice my Japanese since I am still learning the language.

If I went to Akihabara, I would just go on a huge shopping spree! I'd like to visit several cafes and merch shops. I'd probably just wear casual clothes haha.

Prefer PS3 please!

It is my dream to visit Akihabara at least several days. I would go around the electric town and spend a lot of money on anime stuffs, gundam model kits and try a lot of different cafe shop. First destination would be an anime shop that sell merchandise and stuffs that you could not find anywhere else. Second destination would be a gundam model kits shop to buy supply and new gundam kits for my small collection. There are just tons of thing to do in akihabara that could not be done in one day!

I visited Akiba in 2010 during a study abroad trip to Japan with other students at my college. I have a lot of visual memories of the place, like the Animate store with multiple levels full of manga, DVDs, cosplay, figurines, etc... I was always hunting for Sailor Moon merchandise, which sad to say there was not much of (if any).

I went expecting anime. I left having learned that you might accidentally walk into a sex shop.

I saw some cosplay on a rack in a store, and so naturally I approached it. I wanted a sailor fuku! Was there Sailor Moon? Oh, look! Madoka! YES. This is what I want! How much? Can I try it on??

I looked around. My friends had begun wandering the store and realizing what it was. They were all for it! I stayed near the entrance, feeling really out of place... But the cosplay was so cute! And made of...like, a fake kind of leather... Shiny... oh god it's water proof.
Welp.

My friends returned from the upstairs labeled for men only...not telling me what they found.

They talked me into going downstairs of the shop where I first laid eyes on BDSM equipment...

I'm pretty sure my face was super red.

I returned to the cosplay at the front. I passed up buying a Homura cosplay for 5000 yen because I felt weird thinking it was for sexy times.

That's my Akiba story.

No preference!

I have never visited Akihabara except in games and anime. What I find most fascinating about this legendary town are the maid cafes! I would love to don a costume and become someone else who touches lives like the maids seem to! I mean, the maids at the maid and cosplay cafes are like super heroes! They get to be someone else for a day and dedicate themselves to making someone else's life brighter!

(And, you know, they get paid for doing it unlike Superman! Can Superman take his super hero paycheck down to the nearest figure shop and exchange it for the latest and greatest Kirino figure?! I think not!)

So, and this may sound weird, but I would love to work in a cosplay cafe for a day if I visit! It sounds strange to want to do day labor on your vacation but there's really something magical in those costumes!

Probably would start by going to the Kanda Myojin Shrine and warding off all the evil spirits, then the Kotobukiya Store to check out all the models and figures. After that would probably hit up the Gundam Cafe for a bite to eat, then go to Mandarake and Gamers and spend hours and lots of money on all the things!

Preferred PS3.

I've never been to Akihabara or Japan in fact, even if I wasn't there, my Hafu friend told me the great wonders of the shopping district. He told me how Maid Cafes aren't what people watch on anime, and it's more awkward.

If I were there, I would buy as much Gundam models as possible and some PS3 games, like the upcoming Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost (If only I was there); there are always Blu-ray anime I should buy and other gifts. I would buy some manga/gifts for my friends if they wanted something. On other occasions, I had seen some people on /r/anime (Reddit) of the stuff they had bought in Akihabara. I'm completely jealous of that.
