Oh man, if I had the chance to go to Akiba one day... ALL THE THINGS I WOULD DO!! A big shopping spree would be a must. Definitely wanna hit up those merch shops, doujin stores, and cosplay/fashion places. I would stock up on all the wonderful cosplay accessories I could find~ <3 Not to mention the arcades! Would love to check out those awesome arcade games and UFO catchers. Maaan, I would probably need like 10 luggages/boxes just to bring home all the stuff I would possibly get if I went to Akiba.

I've never been to akihabara although it is a personal dream of mine to go there. The first thing i'd do is go to a comic store and get a lot of manga or light novels, such as the Kimi to boku volumes or the MM! light novels, as well as many art books since i happen to be an aspiring character designer! I'd also look for a shojo section since my little sister would love to see one

I'd like to also visit the hobby shops because i can't get enough of Gunpla, I'd love to get the entire gundam wing series in gunpla form, as well as the Hi v Gundam, and many figurines. Maybe i'll meet and make new friends who are as crazy about gundam as i am!

Lastly is visit some video game shops and find some visual novels, visit the arcade and try out dengeki bunko fighting clamax and gundam extreme vs maxi boost, and the gundam simulator! Oh! and definitely check out the cafes they have there! Especially the maid ones, those seem pretty interesting! All while wearing:

Wow if I could go and had all of the money in the world, I would just by so many games new and retro, visual novels, retro consoles, new consoles, figures, basically anything I could get may hands on I would buy. And I would end my trip by finding a place to hide...and live there forever...and ever. Yeah, that would be nice...

I was fortunate enough to have visited Akhiabara. I didn't even know of the place before stepping foot in the area. My friend who was travelling with me mentioned his Japanese boss suggested we visit the "electric town." As someone who has played video games for most of his life and recently, within the past couple of years, started to collect anime figurines, I was FLOORED!

If I had to describe it in one sentence it would be, Akihabara is like an anime convention dealers' room, but imagine that as a whole city, plus more!

The amount of hobby shops and arcades, which are few and far between here in the states, was astonishing. It was also the first time I ate sushi off a conveyor belt lol. Overall, it was so amazing that my friend and I had to visit it again within the 5 days we were there.

If I had to visit there again, I'd probably want to re-locate scenes filmed within "Have A Nice Day" by WORLD ORDER, one of my favorite Japanese pop groups and actually do more shopping there. We were on a tight budget and even if we weren't, we had not brought enough luggage to bring back half of the stuff we would buy. lol

I've provided some random pictures and said video.

Thanks for reading, crossing my fingers! ><

Prefer PS3! (but I have both luckily)

Let's see! I would definitely check out Akihabara without a doubt! I have to see those maid cafe's in person. All the moe would drive me insane! I would buy as many figures as I could carry back with me (I would buy additional luggage bags if I have too) and end my time there relaxing at a hot spring or two.

If I could go to Akiba, I would probably buy figures and other anime goods at the shops. I would also probably end up going to a maid cafe.

I only know of Akihabara from what I see in anime and hear in legend, but I'd definitely go on a photo hunt of locations from one of my favorite games, The World Ends With You. I'd also check out the cafes and such, and definitely pick up some famicom and sufami games while I'm there.

I don't know if casual cosplay is a thing there (probably not) but if it is, I would do it since I've never cosplay'd before >_<

Never been, not sure where I'd even begin. Probably I'd check out the stores first. I'd have to hunt down a ton of KEY works stuff, be it figures or the actual VNs themselves. Definitely would need to hunt down the Durarara!! and Baccano! light novels, even if I can't read them... maybe it'd motivate me to finally bite the bullet and start learning some Japanese. Know what, I probably shouldn't visit Akihabara... I can only imagine the devastation it would bring upon my wallet.

Because sometimes when you want to truly take in a place you're visiting, you need to lie down smack dab in the middle of the street while having the hordes of people walk around you.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but, at the time, Chuo Dori, the main street, was closed to vehicular traffic on Sundays during certain hours. This picture was taken then. Luckily, no authorities came over to inquire. I pitched the idea to my two friends while a third worked the camera. The entire trip to this district was truly a mecca for otaku and techies alike.

I´ve never been to Akihabara, but I´m planning a trip to Japan next year! I´m planning to spend a whole day buying things in Akihabara. First, I´m going to visit Akihabara Radio Center and Super Potato Retro-kan (where I´ll be buying a Nintendo64). Then, I´ll stop into Maid Cafe where they serve cute desserts . Afterwards, I´ll go and buy a Camera in Yodobashi Akiba. I´ll will have my pockets full of 100 yen coins because I´ll try on Gachapons in Gachapon Kan . One things I´m looking forward is to learn to read japanese, so I´ll buy tons of mangas in Mandarake Complex. ARCADES!! I´ll love to play them and visit the big SEGA store <3 All my day on Akihabara I would wear a cosplay so I can take cute fotos of me there . I´ve been saving money so I can buy: PSVita games (such as CLANNAD, Little busters, games I can´t find here...), anime figures (SAO, K-ON!!, and much more ), Light novels (Air, and cute ones I find there), Mangas (Nagi no Asukara, Nisekoi), Cute clothes, Anime series (Glasslip, Isshuukan Friends), and Anime goods (also from Hatsune Miku!). AKIHABARA is my paradise <3
Thank you for reading x3

If I ever got the chance to go to Akihabara one of the first things I would do would be to go to a maid cafe. I've always wanted to go to one, and a cat cafe can't forget those either. Some other place I would go to would probably be Electric Town and if I have enough money to spare: a J -pop Idol performance. With most of my curiosity quenched with the above places visited ( and probably others as I find more interesting things to do) the last and most important thing I would do would be to visit all the shops that have anime, manga, and games, and hopefully buy some to take home and cherish, like buying old super nintendo games i wouldn't be able to find over here and DVD's of my favorite animes, and manga volumes, and if I can.... maybe some doujinshi......and light novels

I've never been to Akihabara enforce, but I would do what seems to be the obvious choice in the matter. I'd go and strip the clothes off of those I deem strippable. I'd also probably be dressed like Hentai Kamen

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Japan just this March/April. Akihabara was one of my destinations to visit and I wasn't disappointed. I went with my sister and told her we just had to go here. You should have seen me, a 41 year old lady grinning from ear to ear at the site of Akihabara coming into view from the train. I was so excited and ready to explore. Ironically I was wearing my Crunchyroll Shirt!

I must say it was a bit overwhelming at first. There was almost too much to see. Every building had some type of build board or sign, anime characters, maid cafes and more. We visited many shops and I was able to purchase some Full Metal Alchemist figurines. We saw Oktoberfest going on with the girls in wild outfits and beer all around. There were the girls dress in gothic lolita giving out cards for the various shops and lots and lots of people. We went during the day so we were unable to see the lights but the trip was still so worth it.

But the highlight was finding a Maid Cafe. This was a bit of a challenge as some of the maid cafes seems a bit more "adult" for our taste. My sister was a bit hesitant to try to look into one of these places so we kept walking. Then we found @home cafe. Which I had seen in a brochure about places to go in Akihabara. We went in and the place was just too cool. Lots of ladies, men and foreigners. It was a totally new experience for both my sister and I. No photos where allowed inside except we could take pictures of our food. The food was so cute and sweet. We both got a drink and a desert to share. Each time our maid brought us something we would have us send our love to it before we could eat or drink. It had a very relaxing atmosphere and it was fun to see the maids playing games with customers and taking photos with everyone. We even saw some guys with the trading cards of different maids. I was just going nuts thinking "they really do this!" I mean I read tons of manga, but to see it and experience was just surreal. We got a photo with our maid and even a card that says " License of Your Majesty".

Overall it was a great memory for me. I would love to go again just to see more of the shops that I missed and spend a whole day there instead of just the 3 hours I had. Enjoy the photos! Prefer PS3.

If I went to Akihabara, I would go check out the stores that sell video games, and manga as well as anime. I would purchase stuff you cannot get in North America. Especially games for PS Vita, PS3, PS4 (region free gaming rules). Maybe also check out the electronic stores for unique items. And while there can check out the cosplay cafes too

Oh I would like PS Vita version please...
