Yeah I also don't need 1080p. I just want my shows to work on the TV.

I am not too thrilled how the Crunchyroll app is being so selective with my TCL Roku TV.

And from what I've seen on this forum, the problem's been going on for a long time.

That's unfortunate.

You can rearrange your queue in a web browser here /home/queue Unfortunately, there's no in-app way to do it.

Move one show at a time with these two controls. The up arrow pops a show to the top and the two vertical rows of dots allow you to use drag-n-drop to grab and place it in a different spot.

The App keeps crashing on my Roku TV. Plays for like 12 to 13 min and Black screen with small white K on the bottom screen. Not enjoying this at all.

I love how it worked fine on my roku before I went premium, now it sticks on retrieving, I'm done with this.

I have a new Sharp TV with a roku embedded in it.

Some episodes play properly, while other episodes get stuck on retrieval/load screen.

Currently unable to play Blood Blockade battlefront & beyond eps 12... yet eps 11 played no problem —- so not consistent with a specific series.
Also, was not able to load Osomatsu-san eps 11 or 12.

One odd thing I noticed, if I fast forward a “problem” episode, I can see the actual show images, but if I hit play, it won’t load full screen. So it’s like it has the content downloaded, it just can’t translate and display it on the roku tv.

Please come up with a fix!

That's been a problem since March, about the time they changed both their CDNs and bitrates... See this thread: /forumtopic-985557/stuck-on-retreiving

I have two Roku-3 separate set-top pucks, and all shows play perfectly through them. The "3" has more powerful processors than the TVs or the sticks. Since it seems to be happening on the TVs and some cheaper sticks, it seems to me to be a problem not being able to handle the bitrate or maybe there's a video codec format translation now that stalls when the resolution/bitrate is too high.

You would think that they could change their adaptive streaming to allow for an optional maximum upper resolution limit, like the web player has. I bet the problem would go away If we could limit it ourselves to 720.

Thanks for the reply. Didn’t see that other thread.

Good to know I’m not alone... but sorry to see that this is an ongoing problem for quite some time.

Finger crossed they come up with a fix in 2018

Some of us are in areas with lousy broadband. Very frustrating that we can't limit it to 720p and are stuck with stuttering and videos that won't even load.

I can think of one way of doing it (at least for a standalone Roku box), although it certainly isn't an optimal solution: Go into the Roku's settings and change the output resolution to 720p. I doubt the Roku would allow a higher resolution to be streamed than the output resolution.

Nope, I'm wrong about the possibility of limiting the resolution to make it work...

If that hypothesis held up, by logging out (and watching with ads), I should be limiting myself to 480p resolution, and that should have made it work. But it didn't. The initial ad (Playtex Tampons, good grief) played just fine, but on shows that were stalling for me with full 1080p, they are still stalling on me even when I'm logged out and (supposedly) only asking for 480p.

So at this point, I'm changing my guess to something with the encoding method not being consistent across all episodes, like some being supplied in mp4 vs mkf or one of the many other formats.

I hope they add a “season” list. It makes it easier to keep up with each season anime.
