Hi, I have a LG Smart TV 60LA6205 but I can't find the Crunchyroll App in smartworld premium or game world. I saw somewhere that you can view Crunchyroll shows through Flingo but I have no idea how to install this 3rd party software.

The last I checked, Flingo has their app listed as "Launchpad'. Do you see an app with that name?

No I do not, I checked in every category available to install apps and none of them had Launchpad, is there perhaps another way to watch Crunchyroll without paying for a 3rd party software?

I looked in the LG app store on the web under the "Entertainment" category and didn't see anything that looked like the Flingo app either.

As noted in this message, you may be able to view CR using the web browser on your TV, but it appears soft subtitles (and other overlays) in Flash video are not supported. That greatly limits its usefulness for CR, as you would be limited to dubs and shows with hardcoded subtitles.

As for the app, it appears the company that was formerly Flingo is now Samba TV, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had also renamed their smart TV app, or perhaps even dropped it completely, as their business focus seems to have shifted.

My WD TV LIve also has the Launchpad app, so after updating the firmware on it, I verified it is still there. Indeed it is, still listed as "Launchpad by Flingo", and still has CR listed as one of the available services. Perhaps LG dropped it for some reason.

Ah thanks, I however can see CR using the web browser on my TV but is very sloppy, though I checked for Samba TV in all categories and it was not listed probably my model of the LG Smart TV does not have these apps. Thanks for helping anyways.

Maybe it's listed under Hotlist?

Since I don't have an LG TV, I'm limited to looking up apps on their website. With that said, it isn't listed there and doesn't turn up in a search, despite Samba TV showing the LG logo at the bottom of the Hotlist page.

This may seem like a ridiculous question but out of curiosity how would you identify which shows are hard-coded( if any at all).

Thanks in advance this question is mainly directed towards TheAncientOne.

I don't know of any reliable method other than beginning to view them. On a PC, right clicking on the video to obtain the options will show no subtitle options for a hard-subbed video. ("No subtitles" may be listed as an option for these, but in my testing, it doesn't function).

You are more likely to encounter hard subs with catalog titles than those acquired as a simulcast, although most catalog titles are restricted to the US and Canada only (due to most being acquired from a US video distributor). As an example, Madoka Magica appears to have hard-subbed video.
