I am unsure of one thing, is the anime ending completely or just stopping until more of the manga (if there gets to be more) is made available?

Now I might be able to start watching Hunter x Hunter. One of my friends that is addicted to mindless, battle shounen told me to give it a spin, but I stopped watching after the third episode because it was simply so childish. It's the same problem I had with Reborn. Also people tell me that Togashi doesn't write a lot because he's so old he has been having health issues or something for like ten years? Jesus, I would have just accepted reality and the fact that it may never finish and just made up my own ending, or go to the fan-fiction websites and pick which one has the most plausible conclusion.

Hunter x Hunter is FAAAR from childish. Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto look like Spongebob compared to HxH. And Reborn is like teletubbies in comparison. Hunter x Hunter is definitely the most violent and dark of any Shonen mangas I know of.

Ahh, so for once a long shonen is actually worth my time. Nice to know.

That's what I actually thought about HxH, but after every arc, it started getting darker and darker.

I hope they do what Magi is doing and what Fairy Tail did, go into a hiatus and avoid fillers or the slowest pacing ever...

they should avoid doing what Naruto, Bleach and One Piece did, Naruto and Bleach's fillers were awful, One Piece has the shittiest pacing ever and the Dressrosa arc is 70% filler 30% canon

As of now, the anime is just ending, even though the manga is still going. I imagine it will take a few years before anyone is ready to make any more of the anime sadly, since the manga comes out so dang slowly.

Togashi is just too lazy D:

I hope they decide to continue the series when there's a reasonable gap between the manga.

I'm so sad right now, my Tuesdays are going to be boring from now on without Hunter x Hunter... I'm just praying that in a few years there will be a season 2...

This sucks, hopefully it can resume in like 5 years or something.

This is Togashi we are talking about. It took close to 10 years to get this anime. He's writing the manga now, but just wait and see, when the next Dragon Quest game comes out "Starting next issue Hunter x Hunter is going on another 3 year hiatus" that is what we will be seeing. He is a good mangaka but like the laziest mangaka ever.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if he just like took a week off every month. Or even just published a large chapter once a month like Attack on Titan. He has got to stop taking these like 2-3 year vacations after writing for like a year though. I think he's done it like 2 or 3 times in the past 10 years. Yeah, that's why even though Hunter x Hunter is as old as One Piece and Naruto, it only has maybe a quarter of the chapters that they do.

Berserk has a similar pacing hiatus issue although I often find Togashi's breaks to be much more...idk, hard to deal with when it comes.

Anyways, the news isn't too surprising since the anime caught up to the manga. I am expecting the show to be on a very long hiatus. Oh well, at least we have the manga still which is good news.

I often picture Togashi, Hoshino, and Miura all sitting around a table giggling like children as we writhe in agony over their constant hiatus'. Not to mention when they do go on the extremely lengthy kind, there's never any reason given.

I'm hoping that the anime will just pull a Fairy Tail. Catches up to the Manga but rather than hand us fillers (i.e. Bleach / Naruto) or drag the shit out of scenes and fights (i.e. One Piece) it will just stop production for a time before returning with a 'Season 2'. Fortunately it won't do what Fairy Tail did and end in the middle of a damned Arc.

It's already confirmed to be stopping so I don't know why you guys are talking about whether they'll stop or go on filler. They wouldn't go with filler or a slower pacing on this anime anyways. Fillers are made to stop the anime from catching up to the manga so it can amass more canon material. There's no reason to take the chance of fillers if the mangaka is known for taking long(sometimes years long) hiatus', they'd have to do fillers for years which isn't good for business. The only reason why Bleach and Naruto had lots of fillers is because their mangakas were putting out lots of chapters while the anime were on filler. HxH doesn't have the same primetime spot as most battle shounen though so it wouldn't really help them to drag it out on top of they would probably still catch up quite fast as Togashi is already on another hiatus.
