Hey all. Last year my boyfriend had a mold situation in his basement and we had to put away his scrolls while the basement was cleaned and basically completed remodeled. We are concerned about rehanging them in case there are still mold spores trapped in the fibers (which would cause mold to spread throughout the house again.. do not want). Right now we are storing them outsides in the garage. They do not have any visible mold stains but we just want to prevent the problem from happening again.

Does anyone know a safe way we can wash the scrolls without damaging them?

Thanks for any help!

Most wall scrolls I get have a tag that says clean with light soap and water.

Well we checked the newer ones that we have hanging now and they don't have a tag. But we were thinking light soap and water and laying flat to dry. Maybe we'll give it a try.

Okay, so we just washed a few with mild soap and water in a spray bottle and then lightly sprayed down gently with the hose and they are hanging to dry outside. Minimal dye seeping out for anyone else looking to wash in the future. 5 down only like 10+ more to go lol.
