I don't think they even check anyway unless you have it out in the open. I mean I've snuck McDonalds in before.

My question is: Why do you have to eat while watching a movie?

Are you going to starve to death if you don't eat for 2-3 hours? I personally don't like having to deal with hearing crunching chewing sounds and candy wrappers opening and people spending two minutes trying to suck up the last spoonful of liquid out of their paper cups. And why do you want to deal with sticky or greasy fingers in the dark? I came to this theater to watch a movie, darn it!

Just imagine if they stop serving food at the movies AND you couldn't bring your own.

lol this thread just affirms my belief in movie prices being too expensive, I mean they would probably make the same amount of money if not more if they lowered prices, just more cleanup, and lets face it, they are cheap so they are not going to pay their workers anymore money to do more cleaning in the same amount of time, so yes, golden corral under your shirt inside the movies ftw~!

I always bring my own drinks. I spend $2.00 at the convenience store, stick them both in my pockets, and just walk in. For that price I'd get a kid's size drink that's 75% ice at the theater.

I don't get a snack anyways. Fucking hate hearing everyone rustling through their plastic packages to eat candy during a movie.

And popcorn is dry as shit and designed just to make you thirsty so you go through your drink faster.

$15 for a miniscule bag of candy and $20 for a large drink?

Fuck you, I'm sneaking in my pizza and coke in my purse.

Yeah I think it is wrong because you are not paying for a service they are providing you that you should be paying for. It is essentially theft. I have never tried to sneak into a movie theater before. I always pay for my tickets at a movie theater.

Why bother bringing food, when there're so many other people in the auditorium? And they are free! The light - is off!!
And it's not like someone is going to recount them after movie is over or anything (baka!)

Depends on which place. If it's a 1 buck dollar theater then gotta help out a little but if its a regular price one? I don't think its wrong.

Only Gendo Ikari could look fabulous bringing a purse into a movie theater. And probably Morgan Freeman.

I go back and forth on it

The theater I go to is actually pretty awesome because they give you free popcorn for every ticket you buy if you're a member of their free rewards program

But the reason I go back and forth is this:
Yes theater concessions are super expensive
But in many theaters that's because that's the only way they make money

Back in the day theaters used to get paid for showing movies
Now they have to pay the studios
The ticket money goes to paying the studio

SO the thing that makes the theater money is concessions

So yes, at times it's really tempting to sneak in food
But they aren't just trying to rob people with their prices

As a previous theater manager I would allow it if you could sneak it in. Although when I see pizza boxes or whatever was brought in and littered on the floor I would get pretty pissed. AND YES^^ workers are getting paid off of concession sales.

No, i think it's totally fine. The food prices at movie theaters are ridiculously expensive. Who would want to pay $10 for a little snack, that's insane and a total ripoff.
One time i sneaked in a whole box of cookies from 'Panera Bread'...
