Final Chapter
… … … Uh-huh. I just hope it means we'll see his next work focus around his journey to become as master or

That aside, twelve years huh? Wow.

The ending felt really rushed but whatever. The journey was fun. Now they need to announce that next project they were talking about.

I wasn't too surprised that the ending was ending, I figured it was coming soon. Not exactly happy about how sudden they finished the fights, but whatever.

It was a nice ending though for the amount of pages it had. It was a fun ride for the amount of time I did follow it.

its too soon ! there are so many questions left ! and I doubt that the epilogue will answer all the loose ends ...aww this sucks why did they drop it so fast?

It's not surprising these days; Kenichi's been going for twelve years and the Matsuena wants to move on to other things. As much as we fans feel it's not "right" for them to end a long-running series so suddenly, we also can't tell the him how to live his own life and what to do with it. Although we're not collectively saying "Give Kenichi a GOOD ending!", deeply, we collectively want a GOOD ending.

What we got was closure to the story, but not the closure we wanted. Sadly, Kenichi ends in a lackluster way (it's obviously rushed, but can we really blame Matsuena at this point?) and we all need to simply move on. Mishima did the same thing to RAVE (the ending was horribly rushed because he just wanted it to end so he could work on Fairy Tail) and it's obvious Fairy Tail is on the fast-track to a rushed ending as well.

At the very least, I just hope Claymore's ending is GOOD and not adequate.

yup its been twelve years that he has been laboring on this story and in all that time he has spent a lot of time and effort (not to mention a nice chunk of his life) on this story so one would think that he would want to put that final bit of effort into the ending and put up a fight against the editors or whom ever is supervising his work to make the ending some what close to what he had envisioned. No im not blaming matsuena since this all happened so fast I for one don't think this was his idea to end it so quick. At any rate the mangaka is near the end of the proverbial run and the finish line is within sight so shouldn't the author gut it out and give a nice ending as to not make the last twelve years seem like a bit of a waste ? because if I was in his shoes and I were the one that put in all the effort for an ending like this would leave a bitter taste in my mouth not to mention a bit of lingering regret in the back of my mind but hey that's just me.
Well when all is said and done the point I'm trying to get across is that I want a satisfying ending but moreover I want an ending that would be comfortable/satisfying the author himself and would leave no regrets in closing a project that has been in progress for more than a decade.

Matsuena has a lot to work with, I think. Throughout reading Kenichi, I've always been wanting a spin-off or gaiden featuring Kenichi's sister Honoka as she's starting high school. It would keep everything that made Kenichi good while still being able to flesh out parts of the story that were glossed over or ignored in Kenichi that were never brought up again.

wow that ending was rushed, but at least they showed that he married Miu and that they have a daughter. now for his next work I hope it's History's Greatest Master Kenichi i want to see what happened leading up to him marrying Miu. just feel unsatisfied until i see that wedding every Kenichi fan would feel the same.

I can see that being pretty cool.

As much as I would love to see that happen, it probably won't. Guess we gotta wait and see what he's working on next.

Underwhelming ending meh....
However, there's this:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-09-13/kenichi-manga-shun-matsuena-draws-3-one-shots/.78739

3 new one shots by the author. Now I wonder if they will be serialized for a full series in the future.

ugh this was WAY to rushed.

What happened to Miu's Father?
What happened to the members of Yomi that didn't turn against the eternal setting sun? Did they just give up?
One panel for most of the Yomi disciples? really?
Then a single page that shows kenichi married Miu and had a kid?
What happened to Kenichi beating the elder? I wanted to see that fight after kenichi became a master.

Such a massive let down.

So it's finally over. Was the last chapter horrible??? No in my book! While I care about all the characters lets be honest the only thing that I wanted them finishing was with a Kenichi x Miu ending. And, I got it! I was so happy to see that last page where he has obviously reached "Master" level. That last page seems to be at least 5-7 years in the future so it's an obvious possibility for a continuation. I'm so glad that there was no harem ending!

Kenichi getting married with Miu is awesome and then having a kid. This was the payoff I wanted and I'm so glad I got it (Unlike Rosario + Vampire Season 2's ending where it's implied but not shown). I wish he'd have drawn the face of the elder an Co. with the new member of their family!

I don't know why people think that Kenichi could be the elder. It's obvious that the other Master aren't that close to the elder so how does Kenichi have a chance against him? The elder is the invincible superman for Kenichi to have a chance he must continue to train for decades.

I have a couple of questions that remained unsolved but I can live with them been unanswered. Great manga definitely needs a revamped full anime!
