Hmm... Are we talking about places with widespread internet access poor, or global poor? Because those are two very different things. I'd definitely choose poor and loved if I was living at America's poverty line ($11,670 per year), but going much poorer than that would make the decision much harder.

I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to get your opinion on this.

Would you rather be rich and alone meaning:
You have all the money to buy whatever you want. A nice house, cars, clothes made from gold, $100 bill toilet paper. BUT, you are alone loved by nobody, all the women are after your money instead of actually loving you. You died not being loved by anyone.

This one has a lot of loopholes.

You can go somewhere and not let anyone know your financial background. You can live in a poor neighborhood. Hire actors to be your friends so you could blend in nicely. With that, it's highly possible to get real friends and a significant other.

It would be more challenging if you have the money and you can't separate from your rich lifestyle.

I'm already poor and loved:
You have enough money to survive. (Yep)
You start a family. (Not Yet)
You live in a small apartment, (Yep)
work fulltime to cover bills, (Yep)
have a hard time putting food on the table, (I rarely eat myself)
can't get anything luxurious. (Sometimes)
you live with someone that loves you and will do anything for you. (Don't live with anyone, but I do have family and friends that love me)
You died next to the person that you cared for. (I think I'm scheduled to die in 15 years)

Yeah, but Im not a brat like Gatsby was... I dont love anybody, and I dont think I ever will. A bit early for me to say that, but I think its pretty true.

They wanted to live out their rich fascade, we want money, so we don't have to work and watch crunchyroll all day. Big difference.

Being rich can only give you a limited, shallow kind of happiness. For the first few years getting all the things you want will feel great. But as years pass, you will get used to being rich and not enjoy it as much anymore. Then your loneliness will become painful, or more painful. I'm not speaking for everyone though.

So. I'd rather be poor and loved.

Poor and loved. Us girls can marry into rich families, no problem. You just gotta be pretty.

Rich and alone.

Even if I have to be alone, that doesn't mean I can't make many others happy and do some genuinely good deeds with the wealth; its not like I'll be spending my time making more money or with someone.

o I like being alone.
o I like money.

So rich and alone.

Being poor and alone sucks. At least if I'm rich I can go out and do stuff. >_>

Surprisingly, rich and alone.
Just need some cuddly animals and some anime and i'll be fine. Besides, you can't count on anyone for happiness.

This question is hypothetical, so you have to realize that its not possible, hence you must create a scenario where the said statement may become true. Such as, rich and alone meaning that no matter what you do, nobody will ever love you, no matter what you do or how nice you are there is something about your presence that inspires the emotion of hate.
