Got the game last night, it took 3 hours for my home slow connection to finish downloading it. I tried the game last night, and it looks cool and great in my Vita. You can also customize your Character too! This is Probably my first JRPG/VRMMORG in my vita. hehe. It really does feel like dot hack or it kinda reminds me of dot hack. Oh how I wished they localized .//hack/LINK.

But, truthfully I havent finished watching SAO... So seeing Kirito lvl 100 & Asuna lvl 96 and have an intimate relationship, kinda stopped me from playing the game. So I have to go back to the anime for awhile so I can cope up with the story. I like to play this at a later time when I have a better grasp on each of the characters. hehe ^_^

but, can anyone tell how to save or was it on Autosave? I just randomly shut off my vita, and don't even know if it actually saved or not. Thanks in advance!

You only have to watch through episode 14.
The game kind of picks up from there with a "what if" scenario. It goes in a completely different way than the show.

Took me 8 hours to download last night because my internet was being a jerk. Still haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I am excited.

And as far as saving goes, I understand it is all autosave 100%. No option to manually save. And it autosaves whenever you enter/exit a zone.

Been playing on and off. Games pretty interesting. This could straight up be a .Hack game if you took out the characters though.

It's pretty fun so far. You start out with an intro mission before it gives you any hint of what's going on. I think the best part so far is just trying to figure out why certain characters have popped up.

Now that word has gotten out that the game has released, lets transition this discussion more to about the game and what our experiences are with it.

For me I have primarily spent all my time working on leveling up underleveled characters without doing any story play. I have Lisbeth at level 100 now and I am currently working on getting Sinon to 100 as well. Below is the best location I have found to level characters.

It's fun as all hell so far. I will have to play a second as I didn't realize you needed to get the last hit bonus on every floor for a trophy.

Crap, now I have to buy another memory card. Out of space again.....Maybe I should just say goodbye to FFX-2.

Oh yeah, and of course I've heard about the horrible translations. But the word translations confuses me since it's used in a number of ways. Subbed or Dubbed? Subbed right? If it wasn't I would cringe the entire time I'll play it.

The game is subbed. Translations are decent but I don't pay to much attention as all I want to do is fight.

what's everyone running for their skill palette?

I'm running two sword skills, Depth impact for interrupt effect and Countless Spike for AoE and crowd control
I've got PRT Prayer for individual healing and Healing Circle to emergency heal for my partner.
I have Divine Avatar for my defensive buff and Merciful Robe for group defense.
I have Parry and Charge SP for SP generation.
I have EXT Onslaught for stun effect and Barst for a heavy regular attack.
And for buffs I have Risk Aversion for extra dodge and Target Sight for Extra Hit.

I am not the biggest SAO fan in the world, but I was deeply curious about the game, so ... now I have it. The translation is rushed and sloppy, but not the end of all creation that some are proclaiming. Still figuring out the game play. ... Rather amusing that you can customize a character, but still have to put up with Kirito for all the cut scenes.

@PapaJupe13: Thanks! I only watched SAO til ep 16. hehe. I can pretty much relate to everyone now haha. I finally realized it was a 100% autosave, it even stated that when you first start the game or even when you open your game again.

Hm, I restarted my game, I kinda messed up with one of the towns people so back to the drawing board, goodbye 12hrs of gameplay.. ahaha.

My suggestion is get that skill for Gain EXP, it's under Sword Skills - Scout and just cast it before battles and when it wears out. basically use that all throughout your gameplay, which really helps you gain more EXP. You'll get at least 20 skill points at the start of the game, so can manage to get that skill earlier in the game.

For Skill Palette, I haven't really thought about it, I'm kinda button smashing most of the time, but I like using Depth Impact & Shine Circular; End Revolver for AoE.
I need that Healing Circle for my partner. I learned that the hard way. ^_^;;

I restarted and decided to not even bother customizing my character once I realized it would still be Kirito in the cutscenes. I didn't see the point. Kind of irritating but I suppose it only makes sense for the story.

True, but you can always revert back to his original name and face, whenever you go back to the inn, 2nd floor in Agil's shop. You can go to the desk and just change your features. I usually just change it.. Kirito is too dark colored for me XD he needs to have some colors lol ^_^v haha

I hadn't gotten far enough into the game to know that when I restarted. It was pretty much right away so I didn't really lose out on doing it. I don't really mind him as he is and I figure if I am going to be forced to be him in the story I might as well let him be as he really is. I'll probably switch things up a lot when I play a new game though.

All I have been doing is this too... ever since I saw your post. XD leveling up, using Gain EXP and Crime Servant for low level characters. I'll share with you guys where's good location to level up. My Kirito was about 107, so keep that in mind. My Silica is 94, Shinon is 84. So I still have a lot of work for the other girls. Gain EXP & Crime Servant can be learned through the Sword Skill/Scout skill. Crime Servant skill is basically giving all the EXP to your partner. hehe.

Well i am playing the taiwanese verison but hadn't made much progress in the story since i am busy with other MMOs. Damn you Coils.

Since i played mostly tank in other MMO. I applied some of their tactics to this game and it really helps. Soo A few tips for new players is to learn how to control your partner properly to make sure they don't die. I have been able to challenge a few high level enemies that are like 30, 40s level above my partner and they came out unscratched, and i will be using a few MMO words so hopefully people with no MMO experiences won't get confused too much.

1. Learn at least a taunt skills. They can found in the Tactics Categories of the Spear and it is fairly easy to get. I get 2 of the taunt skill from there because well some partners do too much damages that they stole the aggro back and have 2 taunts skill mean you are usually in control of the aggro and tanking enemy for them like the smooth gentleman / trap ( if you are using GGO armor like me ) you are.

2. Learn to love the the switch skill. It is a stun/ tank swap / risk reset all in one skill. The boss going smash your poor lvl 60 Sinon personally you don't have your stun skill off cooldown ? Press that Switch button ! If somehow your partner have the aggro, she/Klein will stun the boss and dump all aggro on you. BUT if you have the aggro but you really needed that stun and smash the switch, all the aggro is on your poor partner who probably won't survive long. Have no fear, the taunt skills from tip 1 will make sure you get the aggro back on you.

3. NO NO NO NO Sinon, BACK off, don't STAND there, the boss is casting an area skil ... GAME OVER. Anyone seen this scenario before ? No problem ! Love your L+Down ( Dpad ) Skill ( I have a feeling the skill will be named differently since Taiwanese's translation is so misleading and NA will probably fix it). Your partner will now dash behind you as soon as they are done whatever they are doing. With that skill, you can at make sure they are not getting killed by whatever aoe skill the bosses may have.

4. Most of you probably know this by now but just incase some poor souls smashed X button and skip through all the tutorials. Praise thy partner ! They love praises, and you got 50 SP back whenever they praise you. So mash that praise since it is on really low cooldown.

5. Just Attack ( NA might once again translate it differently ) ... ok, who here mash your Burst button like it is Dynasty Warrior game ? Please stop doing that because it is one of the easiest way lose your dps and prolongs fights. Prolong fights = more time for your partner to die a horrible dead and introduce you to the game over screen. Now that we got that out of the way, just like the tutorial said, timing your burst attack will allow you to use Just Attack. What does the Just Attack do ? More damage, less risk gain, and more accuarcy ( if you havethe right implantment ) So ... how do you know if you are doing Just attack rather than mindless burst ? If you get the timing right, there will be green circle coming out of you whenever you are getting Just attack, even the burst skill can be procced with Just Attack. Each weapon have different Just attack timing so it will hard to get them all but the timing is pretty generous that i think everyone here can get the timing down after a few tries. Having low risk mean you can dodge when needed and get in position to call your partner from harm like in Tips 4, or just dodge whatever skill the boss use on you. Dodging right before it hit you can also proc Just Dodge which should refill your burst by back to fill.

Well that's all everyone. Hope some of you learn something new from this guide and don't see your waifu / Klein a lot. T_T poor Sinon.
