Let me know if there's a thread like this already.
I love mostly all of them that are "westernized". Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Baccano, Gunsmith Cats, etc.
Would you like to see more anime westernized? Both in setting and storytelling? Would you watch them?

Not really. I'd rather Japan continue to explore their own cultural themes and stylization.

But would I would love to have happen is for every animator at Pixar to fly over to Japan and work in Japan (and at some of the anime slave tween factories in Southern Asia) for a year or two and teach Japan HOW TO ANIMATE, RENDER, SHADE, LIGHT, AND PROPERLY USE KINETICS within their 3D work.

90% of all Japanese 3D work (in anime) is hammered dog crap. It's flat out horrible slop that looks like some intern tossed together at the 11th hour. Poor shaders, hideous lighting, crap kinetics, pointless reflections or worse, refractions, and amateur rendering. Mind boggling.

The only aspect of anime that I want Westernized, is improving their 3D work if they're going to insist on using it.

I'm tired of the shitty 3D cars.

I think you're not really using the right word there.

'Westernizing' would mean having it be more influenced by NA/EU culture.

By your examples it sounds like you want more anime's set in an 'Old Western' world; which is entirely different.

I'm completely fine with more 'Old Western' anime. I most certainly do not want westernized anime.

Ah, you're probably right. Good catch.

In that case, I too am all for more "western" or "old west" settings in anime.

You could also say, Lupin III, Nadia, and this is the reason they made Space Dandy. There is also Michiko&Hatchin (which IS westernized- it was produced in partnership with a company called 'Latin Heat')
It would probably be more correct to call them anime westerns maybe. I don't walk around demanding them or searching for them, but if it's good (like Cowboy Bebop) then sure why not.
To be honest I'd be more interested in an 'Eastern' nowadays; to see an anime that takes place in another Asian country outside Japan. Given their history especially the empire they must have more cultural knowledge of countries around them than the American Old West, surely.
Yet that part of the world gets mostly ignored by anime. Hmph.

I would love to see more western influence in anime, but storywise. Not sure westernized is the idea I'd expect. Most the time, I prefer anime to be really serious and not be too lighthearted and "funny". Like KingKaio kinda said, anime should have Chinese, Korean or Indochinese influence.

that be pretty cool not sure I'd use the word westernized but it would be interesting to see more anime not based in japan

and instead focusing more on other parts of the world and different cultures

This. Which is also what I'd rather see/not-see.
