I sometimes take breaks from more serious shows, but usually I do that by watching a lighter anime, usually a comedical anime or a 12 episode anime that's not too plot heavy, so I don't think that really counts

Guess that means I haven't taken a break from anime in years

I marathoned One Piece for 10 hours each day for a week without taking breaks. I even ate my lunch and dinner at my computer because I was enjoying it that much. This was during a school break for which I had one week off and I decided to spend my entire time not doing anything but watching One Piece... If I didn't have to go to school within the next week, I would of still kept going...

I would say that I only take a break from anime if I can't find something I like... so I would take that time to research what other anime are out there that I can watch.

Same

One Piece 400+ some episodes, at the time I fully caught up.

Now I'm back... damn

took me 2 weeks btw

I had a con to attend and I had just started getting into Fairy Tail, and I had a break from classes the week of the con. I did nothing but watch FT, and I managed to catch up just in time. And then after the con, I just kept watching more anime. I don't really feel the need for a break from it.

My mom says I'm a "project person," my significant other just says I drive him crazy.. I rotate all my interests.. reading, tv shows, video games, computer games, blog.. I'll be super focused on one thing and switch. Another thing I'm famous for is starting lots of things and not finishing them, so I'm trying to be better at actually seeing things through to completion.. that means even uber long animes that I start I want to finish before moving on to something else..

As a step in the right direction, I prepaid a years subscription to Crunchyroll, but after watching all of Folktales from Japan I'll probably switch to some TEDTalks on a competing website and then back here for Bleach and so on. If I need a break from watching things I can always start reading more or start playing one of my go-to video or computer games for a while.

I'm not really keen on watching any anime these days. I'd rather read manga.

I have a lot of interests outside of anime I do daily so I don't do it enough to get bored with. I only watch like 2 or 3 anime episodes daily, sometimes even less, although there are days where I sit and watch whole series or whatever.

Moderation is key.

The most I remember doing was like two summers ago I watched from the android saga to the end of DBZ then all of GT in one week. I think that was around 200-250 episodes.

People who 'marathon' anime don't get the same feels that people get who watch the episodes every week.
The anticipation. The guessing. Something to look forward to.

Because of various reason, well, that's actually school, I had to go hiatus on anime for 5 years. So, I'm kinda catching up to those anime that was interesting at that time. hehe. and a whole lot of the long-running series, ie Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail & One Piece.

I usually watch or try different things after watching 5 episodes straight, I think it's my limit now, since I am working but it actually depends if the anime is really interesting for me or not. I can go for all 13 episodes in one night. ^_^

I just go through phases where I like anime and where I don't. Right now I like anime but probably by the beginning of next year I'll have lost interest and absorbed myself in something else. After a few months I'll start liking anime again.

I feel you! That's exactly me too. I have my anime, gamer, and tv/movie-flick phase. If I get bored with 1 of them, I just move on to the other. Currently, I'm on the edge of anime mode, cause some of the games I've been waiting for this year just came out, So I'll be on gamer phase soon...

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older and I have more responsibilities, but I definitely can't binge-watch like I used to.

My whole world revolved around Naruto when I first discovered it, then I caught up to the new episodes.. nothing was the same, so much waiting for just one episode a week..
