I'm a horrible person.

I don't like being the hero. Going with the flow when it comes to the larger picture is the way for me (unless I truly see some profit in it). If it concerns humanity, by all means, I think we're due for a reset.

We're all due to pass one day~

Agreed.

I'd sacrifice myself, because I'm not keen on denying the futures of most people, especially children. There's a certain little niece of mine who'd I'd never willingly condemn to death when faced with this kind of predicament, too.

Tough call. One could say that humans have done enough damage and it's time for our end, but on the other hand, one could say that we humans are full of potential for greater change and can learn to love even more than we do now. For me, it would depend on my mood and a very precise analytical view of how I have seen life in my time being alive. Hmm.

i'd sacrifice myself because it would just be a damn bummer for the world to be half destroyed and to have my legs missing

I'd do it. I'm a bit of a loner, but that doesn't mean I'd be fine with nobody around to spend time with. No way would I sacrifice a limb or two to save some, either. I mean, that would probably be the best option in terms of environmentalism and whatnot, but like most people, I'm fundamentally selfish, and I am not going to willingly subject myself to that. Basically, death is preferable to eternal solitude or limiting my own capabilities.

Besides, and I know this is by no means a very popular opinion, but I'd choose humanity over the rest of earth every time. I know I'm biased, but I just can't appreciate other species like I do ours. We're the ultimate agonist, and more importantly, the ultimate author. Destroying humanity means destroying our boundless potential for stories, both actual and fictional. Maybe we're headed for self-destruction, but in the end, I think it'll have been worth it. A "bad" ending doesn't necessarily make for a bad piece, but a rushed one often does.

I wouldn't want to live without my legs, arms or any part of my body so sacrificing some parts of me just to save a FEW people without knowing who they are...it is not worth it. <_<

I'd prefer to die and save the entire human race but save from what? it would be annoying and meaningless to sacrifice my life for people who are fighting each other, and for a world with wars everywhere, abusers, unkind people etc etc I would never sacrifice my life for this world if i have the option to choose who will be saved I would do it or if sacrificing my life to save this world means that corruption and wars would cease to exist I would do it.

Otherwise, I'm just fine the way I am right now and would die with the destruction of this world.

I would give myself up and be the sacrifice. It's better to be useful then worthless.

Sacrifice myself. We all are going to die one day anyways.

I'd gladly give up an arm or leg to save a life, or sacrifice myself to save others. Anything to make my life worth something, to know that humanity benefited from my existence.

That said, I'd much rather reach the infinite void of death in fiery anime style glory, as the idea of dying on hospital bed with tubes sticking out of me is frankly terrifying...

I choose to die for humanity. It is entirely against my better judgement, but, "I better get a 20 meter tall statue built in every city for this."

In a way I would be responsible for prolonging human suffering, but not death because I am not the cause of it. In the long run, it might even lead to promoting homogeneity of the human race. Complaining of how humanity is irredeemable by acts of war, murder, and wholesale slaughter of one group (of people) is puerile. Those deaths are a necessity to the resolution of a conflict, no matter how reprehensible. It's all for progress.

I've often said "It's not about how you die, it's about how you live", but if by dying I could save others, I would. That's part of why I'm an organ donor, actually - knowing others would live because of that choice made it easy for me.

Wow, I'm your polar opposite.
I would die with my organs to stop other people from using them to live. That's part of why I'm not a donor
