I've recently been watching the Monogatari series (Bakemnogatari & Nisemonogatari, etc) and I'm relly disappointed at the characters framework. The two main characters are not consistant and have various personalities. Other than that, the plot is rather bland. I was expecting there to be more substance to it.

Any anime directed by Akiyuki Shinbo or produced by SHAFT will disappoint and bore the hell out of you. Coffee house navel gazing rubbish for the most part.

What is an anime/s that has disappointed you?

Way too many to list, but off hand I'd say:

- Sword Art Online: insipid script and shallow. Interesting concept, but poorly executed and written by a very unremarkable individual.
- Bleach: Started out well enough, and they quickly devolved into sheer stupidity.
- Rail Wars: so utterly pointless it makes me want to chew on tinfoil.

My list is long as well :/
I think some anime companies are losing their touch on originality and plot developement.

Totally agreeing with Hairbelly, here.

Sword Art Online. It's definitely an interesting concept, but it could have been written so much better. Poor character development all around, as well.

And, most of all, it does not need a second season. I'm sorry. I was content with that ending. So many fan-diddly-tastic animes that did not get a second season and have some real potential because of the manga, and they chose that garbage. No offense, I did enjoy a bit of SAO.

Bleach. Older bleach is so much better. I love the first few seasons. But the anime drags on, and the same things keep occurring. oH CRAP WE GOTTA SAVE SO AND SO. WE GOTTA TRAIN ICHIGO AND MAKE HIM STRONGER FOR 6 EPISODES NOW. Ugh.

Rosario Vampire. Usually I'm fine with fan-service. But the constant moans and panty shots from very generic characters were really obnoxious and I was already 200% done with it a few episodes in.

... I'll probably think of more / come across more and post here again.

What didn't you like about Blood+?

SAO - it could have been so awesome, but was just okay.

Dark than Black s2 - s1 was awesome, s2 they switched to a protagonist I didn't care about who had a magical girl sequence that did not fit with the show at all. And then there were some scenes that were just awkward. I like to pretend s2 doesn't exist.

Bleach, particularly the fullbring arc - I enjoyed this arc in the manga, but the anime took all the tension out of it and did weird rearrangements that just didn't work for me.

Another had in my opinion a really bad payoff in the end for all the mystery built up.

Everything, to be honest. I found the extremely thing to be extremely dull. *shrug*

Haha Bleach. I guess, Yes, it just became so repetitive.

Quite recently would be Wizard Barrister. I really thought I would get a contemporary, magical courtroom anime, but all of the Legal & Ethics of that show was basically thrown out. Well, maybe it can be still saved for the 2nd season.

I can't think of anything else right now. Maybe I'll post some more later.

C3-bu: Anime about airsoft? I'm in! Then it tried to go all psycho which was totally unnecessary. Luckily Sabagebu is healing my wounds.

Rail Wars: Reading the plot on wikipedia, I thought it would be "Library Wars" with a different setting. Instead, I got a bland action harem with a few facts on trains. Its sad since I seriously think Aoi Sakurai could have been on of my favorite female characters of all time since I love her personality, and the fact she can kick ass. Seeing her fall for someone as bland and talentless as the show's MC is hard to watch.

Jormungand: Well, just the ending. It felt so weak since the highlights of the show in my opinion was the action. I would have been happier I just stopped a few eps before the last one. Everything else was pretty awesome.

Oreimo: Because I am an intolerant, close minded, and arrogant westerner who finds incest disgusting. Not really, but I still thought the ending was messed up. I was enjoying until that point though.
