glasslip didn't particularly strike me as a comedy...

Are you telling me that the sheer awkwardness of almost every scene did not appeal to you as comedy, good sir?

That scene with Hina on a bike telling Yukinari to 'stay attractive' killed me.

There were disappointed, but I still like or love:

Blood + - mostly because the only main character I can stand is Saya, and they deviated too much from the manga.
fairy tail - mostly form the manga though. Getting tired of overpowered Natsu and gray.
Code geass - The ending disappointed me.
ah my goddess - kinda wanted to see peorth's meeting hild the same as the manga, along with welsper being there.

These sounded great but then disappointed/did not finish:

Momo Kyun Sword - sounded like a great concept but it just bothers me. I tried watching the first episode but got bored to tears and the main character was not really likable. I can ignore fans ervice so that was not the issue

11 eyes - just couldn't get into it. seemed like it would be very enjoyable

Sword Art Online- concept sounded cool, then seemed to much like .hack, then I did not like the whole if you die in the game you die in real life. That was a major turn off.

the awkwardness is kinda what made me give up on it... I'm not that big of a fan of cringe

that's why I dropped both Glasslip and Love Stage. wayyyyyyyyyy too much cringe.

Well, definitely never watching that show. I hate awkwardness based humor (the only show that I actually like it for is Babylon 5 and I'm not sure how they made it funny instead of painful).

I found myself frequently disappointed with Bleach, and not due to the 'new villain - power up - beat villain - repeat' cycle style of it's story. That kind of plot progression has been around for decades so it's kind of the norm among Shounen. Each series just takes it's own spin on it.

1. Kubo is very artistic in his manga. He draws such beautiful double page scenery and makes each of his characters intricately detailed; very little of that transferred to the animation quality, especially in fights.
2. Kubo has a very terrible habit of drawing out his fights by starting them off rather lopsided before the person winning the fight goes on to explain exactly how his or her ability/zanpakuto works. The other combatant is then able to counter said ability/zanpakuto. This happens over and over and over throughout the series.
3. The highest filler to canon episode ratio ever. So much filler, and all of it crap.

Aside from that, One Piece. It has gradually gone down the shitter since the time skip. Only in the anime though. The manga is still amazing.

Oh, and Fairy Tail. It was charming for a bit but the constant victory by Fairy Tail using nothing more than "friendship = power" trope got old several arcs ago. There is little to no actual training done by the characters. They just get stronger by being cheered on and retain that power through the rest of the series. Mashima's insistence on making Lucy completely useless is frustrating as well.

I am eternally bitter over SAO. And I wasn't disappointed because of hype-induced expectations. I knew next to nothing about it when I started.

Episode one I was hooked. The first four eps or so set an entirely different tone. And then... it turned into a damn soap opera. Plot holes you could drive an Eva through opened up. Before the episode numbers were in double digits I was wondering why I kept watching. I foolishly kept hoping it would break out of the quagmire it had fallen into. Maybe Asuna would die. Or better yet, Kirito. But no. It became, and stayed, a below average utterly generic fantasy anime without even a strong character to redeem it from mediocrity.

I think I will always feel strongly about SAO's failure since it raised my expectations so high, and because I was actually taking notes on it, thinking maybe I'd liveblog it or write a decent review of it. I never did bother, and I stopped writing about it before the first arc even finished. Nonetheless writing about it burned that disappointment into long-term memory. It will always top my list of disappointing animes.

I'll never allow myself to get that stoked about an anime again. That's kind of sad, actually.

Needless to say, I am not watching SAO2.

Then there's Nichijou. I'm sorry. It just doesn't work for me. Lucky Star did it better before Nichijou, and Azumanga did it better even before that.

Angel Links. For a spinoff set in the same 'verse as the awesome Outlaw Star, Angel Links sure sucked.

Clannad, every arc after Fuuko, including After Story. Needs more Fuuko. That is all.

Legend of Crystania. It borrows the name and allegedly the world of Lodoss, but none of the things that made Lodoss great.

Yes! Especially natsu's power ups. I hope he loses all his powers one day. lol.

Lucy totally desrves more credit and fights. Also, Mira and cana as well.

Naruto, for one. It started out strong in my opinion and then got worse and worse. Others are Roberta's Blood Trail (the Black Lagoon OVA), 5 Centimeters Per Second, Redline and Gokukoku no Brynhildr (Brynhildr in the Darkness). Oh, and Deadman Wonderland (but only because of the "ending"; god, that pissed me off).

Quite a number

More recently Tokyo ESP, I was like "A shoujo battle manga? Dang sign me up", but the series is pretty mediocre.

The Big O could have been an all time great! ....Except season two was a major step down and while still good left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

People have already mentioned Bleach and Fairy Tail so I'll just say I'm there.

Before I had access to a computer I was often forced to rely on word of mouth and video stores to get anime ("Ah, the good old days of not being sure of what your getting into") and I kept hearing people rave about Fist of the North Star and I'm a big action fan so it sounded awesome to me and I got hyped up so I payed about 20 bucks and rented about half of what the video store had for the series.... it was the first anime I've ever had a hate response to. Prior to that I had some pretty good luck (even at times where I would blind pick) and even if I didn't like it I could at least tolerate it. I hated Fist of the North Star and forced myself to watch what I got to justify paying for it. So I had my first anime hate and disappointment at the same time!
