I am eternally bitter over SAO. And I wasn't disappointed because of hype-induced expectations. I knew next to nothing about it when I started.

Episode one I was hooked. The first four eps or so set an entirely different tone. And then... it turned into a damn soap opera. Plot holes you could drive an Eva through opened up. Before the episode numbers were in double digits I was wondering why I kept watching. I foolishly kept hoping it would break out of the quagmire it had fallen into. Maybe Asuna would die. Or better yet, Kirito. But no. It became, and stayed, a below average utterly generic fantasy anime without even a strong character to redeem it from mediocrity.

I think I will always feel strongly about SAO's failure since it raised my expectations so high, and because I was actually taking notes on it, thinking maybe I'd liveblog it or write a decent review of it. I never did bother, and I stopped writing about it before the first arc even finished. Nonetheless writing about it burned that disappointment into long-term memory. It will always top my list of disappointing animes.

I'll never allow myself to get that stoked about an anime again. That's kind of sad, actually.

Needless to say, I am not watching SAO2.

Then there's Nichijou. I'm sorry. It just doesn't work for me. Lucky Star did it better before Nichijou, and Azumanga did it better even before that.

Angel Links. For a spinoff set in the same 'verse as the awesome Outlaw Star, Angel Links sure sucked.

Clannad, every arc after Fuuko, including After Story. Needs more Fuuko. That is all.

Legend of Crystania. It borrows the name and allegedly the world of Lodoss, but none of the things that made Lodoss great.

I literal LOL at this assessment of SAO!

I have claimed for a LONG time that SAO (Season 1 both arcs) is a steaming pile!

There is a guy who wrote reviews of every episode, and how you feel about season 1, his writing will crack you up!

Start with the first episode recap and keep reading, I am positive you will love it!

Now as for season 2, I am glad I gave it a shot because so far it is a GOOD anime! (Not fanboy great, so we are clear)

I maintain if they took the SAO movie that was mostly recap and used that to launch season 2 without making us endure season 1, SAO would be better!

Let's see...

Sword art online felt like a terrible .//hack rip off. The characters are boring and it didn't bring anything too special to the table.

One peice It's so... meh... It's repetitive, long winded, and it seems to get distracted from it's actual plot.

and holy crap the winner is Strawberry Panic It's all over the place! The plot is dead boring! They drag it out and there's so many characters that none get adequate developement! I just gave up!

I recently watched Darker Than Black , and I must say, I found the plot a bit confusing up until the end of the show. Also the characters were a bit unlikable. I don't know, I was just expecting better from Studio Bones

SAO. Started great, I don't really mind the heavy focus on the Kirito x Asuna by the end of the first arc. ALO arc, terrible start, terrible premise. GGO arc, not bad I guess. There's a couple good episodes (specifically Ep.6), but that dull stuff in between is kinda depressing. It has it's ups and downs, but there needs to be some less noticeable downs.

Black Bullet. Again, started off great. Halfway through the first season I was beginning to lose interest and wasn't sure where they were going with it or what they were trying to do with it. By the end of season 1, I don't know if I'm even interested anymore.

5 Centimeters Per Second the movie was not as great as the hype and high praise led me to believe. Rosario+Vampire because even though it was a harem, I was sort of hoping for slightly more story.

The irregular at magic high school. I didnt get the story at all, it confused me. They spent about 5 episodes on the high school competition and I just dropped the show after that. I really like the animation of the show too.

Currently, Irregular at Magic High School has fallen into that category for me.

I'm sure the LN is better, but the anime is lacking. It really expects the audience to swallow all these fluffy explanations about magic and move on... I like logic that exists only in a story sometimes, but some of the stuff happening is all too confusing. For example, I don't get why all these characters are surprised when Tatsuya or Mizuki does something. Is it really that impressive? =/

SAO, liked the initial start, didn't like soap opera after. But actually i didn't care for Log Horizon either, nor Accel World... so i think in general that kind of game-come-to-life just isn't to my taste lol.

Angel Beats. Didn't really know anything about it before going into it, but, idk, i found it a little.. dull? i felt bad 'cuz one of the kids i used to babysit loved it and was hoping i would too... :/

So far, not sold on Akame ga Kill. It's very harem-ish to me and even though it isn't ecchi, still dislike amount of fanservice. I also don't feel anything for most of the characters, so i don't really care if one lives or dies (except for the gay guy lol). well i'm still going to keep watching it anyway, it's not that bad. Just a little disappointing. ^^

K-on. Was told that since i liked Daily Lives of Highschool Boys i would like k-on. Nope.

Is this A Zombie? just never clicked for me. I'd had so many people recommend it based on liking High School DxD , but it didn't live up to the hype. It was just okay. Think the biggest issues for me was how much I disliked Seraphim and Haruna. Probably could have handled Haruna by herself, but the combination was overkill.

Similarly, I wasn't that into So I Can't Play H. Wound up hoping the other women would be successful in breaking the lead up with his one twu wuv, because she's an abusive control freak.

Dramatical Murder did not have enough Yaoi, and yet it's based on a BL game. So it's disappointing how they completely ignored that aspect.

Attack on Titan disappointed in the sense that it didn't answer any real questions within its 25 episodes - which I guess you could say is quite an integral 'sense'. I still really enjoyed it, though, and look forward to the next season where we'll hopefully get some answers.
