It's approximately episode 8 for most show's that are new to the Summer 2014 Season. Generally at this time I like to find out who is watching what and what people are dropping/sidelining for other and better shows. I'm pretty sure we can all agree there are some really worth while shows this season and they have pretty big followings to boot, but...

In your opinion which show's are the most underrated of this season? Meaning they are enjoyable, but people may not know that they are worth watching.

I personally think that these are worth giving a shot if you are not already:

Hanayamata- A fun and heart warming slice of life with a great director and good script
Ao Haru Ride-I found this to be enjoyable because it's not as over the top romance as it could have been and instead has a more introspective side to the characters, which helped me relate better to the characters and situations.
Barakamon-An awesome slice of life that is funny and has really awesome characters. I love Naru!!

These three i feel like more people could give a chance. They have been enjoyable and their stories have been more consistent and fluid than some of the other shows i thought would turn out better due to hype.

If you have any other suggestions, let us know which ones and why :)

I pretty much agree with that list except I'd also add Black Butler: Book of Circus as the show has been outstanding since it's beeen airing. Shame it's only 10 episodes but whatever.

I definitely agree with Hanayamata and Blue Spring Ride. However, I've yet to watch Barakamon

Honestly, I think that i'd say Locodol is a tad underrated. It's actually turning out to be a rather peaceful and lighthearted show. Plus the characters are all quite lovable. There are some exaggerated parts of it that make it humorous, but overall it actually feels remarkably "real" when compared to many other idol shows. It's definitely not a show for everyone, but I think it's pretty good for what it is.

Nobunaga Concerto. I know a lot of people don't like the animation, but...they're dumb.

I totally agree with all those picks besides Ao Haru Ride. Though I certainly do enjoy the anime it's pretty much your general Shoujo anime with the usual clichés. To me, there's nothing about the anime besides maybe the beautiful art style that says to me that it's an underrated anime you have to give a chance.

I'd personally add Nobunaga's Concerto to the list as so far it has been shockingly good. Though it's another Nobunaga title and the animation style is rather bizarre, the anime has some amazingly strong characters that have very good chemistry with one-another. The story also has an interesting take on the Nobunaga story that creates some very enjoyable plot points and numerous hilarious moments between the characters. Sabagebu would definitely be my other pick, it's by far one of the funniest anime I've ever seen the MC Momoka has a very unique and refreshing personality from that of the usual slice-of-life/comedy anime.

I think Barakamon is the best show of the season. It is just something so refreshing and different. It's not a harem. It's not rom-com. It's a pure comedy. I think one of the most refreshing things about it is how realistically it portrays rural life. That, and there are no characters who are just there to sell merchandise.

My personal standard for how good a show is, is how likely am I to want to watch it again. For this season, the ones I'm most likely to want to watch again are Barakamon, Invaders of the Rokujyoma, and maybe Rail Wars.

Ah okay, that's the general idea I got from the thread. Seems like time better spent on Fairy Tail filler lol

Well, I've liked it a lot since like...the second episode. So take what you will from that.

Is Barakamon really underrated? I seem to hear like everybody and their mother talking about how great they think it is.
