The meaning of life is to survive and die of old age or 42. I can never tell which one it is

Questions about the process we call life assume that life has "meaning." As difficult as it may be for many to accept, the only meaning life has is what we humans give it.

I don't know what the meaning of life is anymore. I used to think it was all religion, but now I'm just having a "I don't give a fuck" attitude.

Suffering and Anime. Pretty much Anime.
A lesson in Buddhism:
The four noble truths:
1.All of life is marked by suffering.
2.Suffering is caused by desire and attachment.
3.Suffering can be stopped.
4.The way to end suffering is to follow the Noble Eightfold Path.

To me the meaning of life is to attain enlightenment. Having a family gives my life clear purpose. Helping others makes me happy, which also gives life greater purpose as does spending time with those I love the most.

There is no meaning to life, better get used to it. Life is what you make of it, gotta make your own meaning and reasons to live.

For me? Have fun with it.

Maximizing one's own or transferring happiness unto others, finding a suitable partner for genetic succession, living in adherence to religious conduct, creating a legacy by which the human history will remember, a nihilistic nothingness. Perhaps simply passing the time by surviving the circumstances, to be oblivious without allocating a second's thought to discover meaning or significantly distinguishing one's ephemeral life. Life varies by individual, therefore meaning may as well.

It is 3AM where I am right now, but I like philosophical questions, so here we go

I forgot where I heard that "the meaning of life can't be told, it has to be experienced," but I pretty much agree with it.

Life's a learning process; there are no rules or regulations telling you what path you should take to give your life meaning. Spend your time where you think it's worth it, whether with friends, family or by yourself... it shouldn't matter where as long as you're happy with it. Each path of life is as unique as the person walking it.

......somehow I pulled that semi-gemstone of a last sentence out of the bottom of my brain when I should actually be sleeping. Huzzah. Ok moving on....

I don't belong to any religion, I would consider myself Atheist, but I do like a quote that I borrow from the religion of Wicca, "And it harm none, do what thou will."

We create our own meaning. I don't feel compelled to create much, so I'm just passing time.

Along the lines of some others... One of the best things about life is that it's entirely YOUR choice as to what meaning you want for your life. What things do you value? What kind of person do you want to be? What goals do you have in life?
I suggest giving the answers to these questions some form... I write MY answers to these questions down in a place I see often.

Your life is as meaningful as you choose to make it.

Now, purpose, on the other hand, is entirely different, in my opinion. Often, those that raise us and teach us do so with the idea of GIVING us a purpose, such as parents, teachers, etc. Even our friends can subconsciously impose their own ideals and goals on us. Will you choose the purpose that has been given you? Or will you make your own?

There's no right answer. It's up to you. But, of course, this is all just my opinion.
