The top topic, does mention that Crunchyroll will respond to queries etc as they arise, perhaps Bj Baker was over ambitious. s

They don't respond , that's the problem ! I've already sent them several emails about it . They just ignore them and keep on charging th ole' credit card ! Commercial free and HD......only half right...

i have a Samsung UltraHD SmartTV and it have no issues except for low res interface (what about using svg instead? will scale a hell of alot better)

other than that the app is ancient

I would assume that CR would want to make their streaming services as reliable as possible. However, the Samsung app user segment may be too small to dedicate resources to, over other platforms, at this time.

It's still deceptive advertising , when their own commercials and the Samsung state otherwise . You can't just advertise one thing then go around saying "oh , we don't offer it for you" . Thanks for your money . It's also pretty pathetic that they won't give a response to email or on this site . The only one ever responding is you , not them . TOS be damned , that's outright deception , if not fraud ! We do have the Deceptive Trade Practice law here (in Tx) . I know , I've used it before , it works .

Do any of the CR commercials state "Anime in HD on your Samsung device", or simply "Anime in HD". If not the former, you wouldn't have much of a case, since they obviously offer anime in HD.

If Samsung states otherwise, that is on them, not CR.

Why don't you go look at CR's own Samsung page . They stated it . They need to redo their ad then . It needs to state HD on select devices not a blanket statement implying it's on all . Why can't CR reply to all the posts Samsung owners maid asking where it is ? Or answer multiple emails sent to them ? We want to here from them . As they state it is deceptive . Let them answer .

This page or this page? Neither states HD, though the Samsung page still lists /Gosick, and they are the only two that I could readily find that directly mention Samsung TVs.

I don't see it on any pages related to Samsung and CR. In fact, I don't see a "CR's own Samsung" page, but instead a page on all devices at CR that redirects to the Samsung website when the "MORE INFO" link is clicked. I don't see a mention of HD on either page eyeofpain mentions, which are the two I found. I also found two CR news articles, neither mentioning HD.

When a claim is made, it is normally the responsibility of the person making the claim to provide the evidence, not for others to go and find it.

The only mention of HD in relation to Samsung I could find was the Site News forum post announcing the app's availability, which stated in part:

We are also planning on rolling out 720p and 1080p to Samsung Smart TV later this year.


Although you may not have been at CR long enough to know that "plans" don't always work out (and shouldn't be taken as a promise, and certainly not a statement of availability), I would think life experience would have taught you that. CR first mentioned they "planned" to bring HD to the Roku only months after the app originally launched at the end of 2010, but it wasn't until August of last year they actually did it.

The page I was referring to is the Site News forum post that you posted Ancient . The article was from 2012 . it's now 2015 and still no HD . I did pm a CR staff member last night , and he isn't sure why not or when . They won't even talk with their own people . Do you work for them ? Let CR answer the question . They owe us Samsung users at least that much . Stop answering for them . The evidence , as you put it , is right there on that page . Plus all the ads they run stating "commercial free and in HD for Premium Members" . We only got part of it . Let CR respond to it . They certainly won't answer e-mails .
