The TV commercial I've seen lately only states "no ads" which should still be true for the Samsung app.

The ones that I saw still said both . Rather than debate between us forum members , I'm taking the bull by the horns , so to speak . I pmed a couple more of the CR staff directly about it . I did get replies at least that they will look into it . I'm sure after the Boston event . They were surprised support would not even send a reply at all . Time will tell...I hope...

Have you checked my "status" line at the end of each of my messages?

I wasn't aware that me responding is in any way preventing CR from answering your question if they wish to.

At best, you'll essentially get the same answer I gave: Things didn't work out as planned. At worst, the answer you'll get is the plan for it has been shelved or put on the back burner. Would that really change your situation?

Do you even own a Samsung product ? This is a Samsung users area , for Samsung users to ask questions and to sometimes vent . yet you always like to pop in just to aggravate . You do it elsewhere too .You do not work for CR , so butt out . And , yes , it will make a difference weather I keep paying for premium or not . Why pay for no HD on my primary device when I can get the same resolution for free ? Wait a week , so what . Ads never showed up before on my player when I was on the free . There are plenty of free sites that are in HD , plus I already have Funi too . Or you just like posting on people's treads like a troll . You're not helping anyone . Just stay away...

Yes, I own a Samsung Blu-ray player that has streaming apps.

CR's forums are a place for users to respond to each other. While we have the fortune of sometimes having staff provide answers in the "Help" section of the forums, these forums are primarily for peer to peer assistance.

TheAncientOne has a long history of being a respected participant in the forums (part of why he has a title in fact). He is knowledgeable and often provides very useful information. He is by no means a troll and he is welcome here. Please take his responses in the spirit of helpfulness that was intended.

I have no problems with the ancient one, or indeed other users whom are ever ready to leap to Crunchyroll 's defence freedom of speech etc. One does have a problem with a company having a help forums section, in which help is almost never supplied, I would imagine that is also the main reason why sometimes people are a little short with each other ,every now and then here.

So it was. This thread has been going for a really long time for the number of pages. I was browsing the forum for information about the Etrian Mystery Dungeon preorders (if I'd ordered somewhere else, I'd have gotten it today, instead of having it get to a warehouse on the other side of the country today to then be shipped to me), and came across that comment. I didn't expect a post that old to be on the front page of an active forum, not in a three page thread, and I didn't check the date.

Yup , I've (and other Sammy users) have been waiting for an answer from CR for a long time now . Currently waiting for an answer from them right now . Some other users take it upon themselves to attack others that don't agree with their way of thinking though . When bj responds to me I'll post the response here .

OK , I finally got a response back from Bjaker . He was on the East Coast then Vegas (poor guy...lol) and had to get back to inquire . He stated after talking with the powers be that they are "looking into it" . So that means we probably won't ever get HD at this rate , but pay full price and get no ads ! They just don't care ... Email your displeasure since you can't call or contact them otherwise .

Because of my slow internet, I didn't know that the Samsung app lacked HD. And I only use my smart tv because I lack the bandwidth to stream through my PS3. Crunchyroll has gotten bigger since their humble beginnings, but I don't know that they have programmers dedicated to any one system. Personally, I would be more interested in getting the full command features available in other app versions. Things like search, next/prev episode, etc.
