That's nice but still BDs are very expensive for me. That's why I stick to mangas, OSTs and artbooks; what I can take.

If you enjoy a manga or an Anime, you support it by paying for what you watch/read.
Anything beyond that is in my opinion not necessary.
I sure as hell won't be taking responsibility for everyone pirating Anime and Manga prints by purchasing needlessly large amounts of bullshit novelty items and merchandise.

I agree with the polar bear, Just by being a premium user I am doing my part. I also do occasionally purchase merchandise, but that stuff sure is expensive.

stop having such high expectations of every anime and they'll pretty much be good.

I love anime, but I am not the type of person who likes collecting all kind of useless plastic merchandise. I probably should buy a premium member access, though... For now I'm satisfied with what I have.

Good question and for a few decent titles, which may include Kingdom, Psycho Pass or Nobunaga Concerto, you get like dozens of cookie cutter, fanservice trash with like no stories to tell. Most anime are going through lazy development and too many writers seem like they're very afraid to change.

If I really love the anime/manga/novel I end up buying it, but the video has a lot of good points that I agree on.

I can't pay for the things I want TT_TT Too young, and parents are too unreasonable to buy me dvds or manga. My dad constantly insists that if I want to read books, I have to read it at the library.

Points in order of appearance:

1. I bet the larger public would embrace anime more if they knew how many films were basically stolen plots from animes.

2. I heard Studio Ghibli was reformatting, or a restructuring, not closing. The "closing rumor" was a mistranslation. Someone feel free to correct me if my information is outdated.

3. I don't see why they don't seek conventional funding AND kickstarter funds at the same time. I mean literally the same time, not doing a kickstarter and then HOPING to get a studio's attention. It would only require contract changes. Are they really THAT stubborn about their business models (like I've heard)?

4. There are many reasons people don't buy, which have been listed in the General forum all over the place even in the last month or so.

5. The problem with the pay-support solution is the same as early access games. If people pay a lot (and it is a lot, don't say that it isn't) for a Japanese blu-ray, and DON'T get that second season, then technically it was a waste of money unless they're hardcore fans of the show/manga. Fear keeps people from buying just as much as price does.

6. Why do some nerds feel that their well-produced and well-thought out videos require narration that doesn't take a breath?

If it's an anime I find myself rewatching, I usually buy it (assuming they ever release it. *looks at Nichojou manga) but that's pretty rare for me. I've only bought six shows, the rest one watch was enough, though I do to try to watch through CR when possible. Also all that merchant takes up space, and in many cases is really expensive, even for anime that's so so.

I am waiting for the anime crash cause they are flooding the market with trash, and their licensing regime ends up excluding markets that may offer addition revenue to support quality products.

I wouldn't really buy anime unless it has rewatch value, other than that, I do support by having my premium membership.
