Which do you prefer between the two methods of getting a game?

If it's a game that I've been waiting for then I get a physical copy so I can add it to the collection

Otherwise, barring some crazy price differential, I now opt for digital.

Physical, but I've become less apprehensive about the matter over the last few years and I now download quite a few games through Steam and Humble Bundles.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Physical is nice because you can display them and you can verify you own them.

Digital is nice because it's an instant access, no need to wait for it to arrive and you can't "lose" them per say.

I'm a physical copy kind of person. I just like having the actual physical product i can touch, and i'm a real sucker for limited editions, collectors editions etc.
But i'll admit, digital is nicer in the way that it's instant, and doesn't take up space on a bookshelf. No searching through game cases and no changing or swapping discs. I'm too lazy for that. Even with anime. There have been multiple anime that i already own, yet i'll watch it here on crunchyroll or another site just because it's easier.

I have always enjoyed being able to download a game that way I don't have to keep up with a disk, but there have been times where I have lost my digital code or whatever or the download isn't available anymore and I would like to have a physical copy.

I buy physical as I enjoy collecting video games and have over 100 games starting from the SNES days. Every game from I own from the GCN era of consoles and DS era of portables to now is in excellent shape as it is just a disc or cart in a sturdier box. Games and boxes prior to that era are in great or good shape for the most part. I no longer have my NES and the one game I had for it. I like my physical media, though I am getting to that point of where I want to put everything as I don't like leaving some things lying around or getting in my way on tables.

At the moment, I only buy digital games if they are on sale, digital download only, or if they are digital download only when originally released like those Telltale games on PSN.

I buy a mixture or physical and digital.
For the most part, I buy digital for my 3DS. Memory cards are so cheap for the 3DS. I have about 25 retail games downloaded on my 3DS and still have over 123,000 blocks left.
I wish memory for the Vita was the same, but Sony really bent over the user base on this. I hardly buy games for my Vita anyway. usually physical, except for something like SAO, which was DL only.
My 360 is not digital only.
My Xbox One and PS4 are a mix. I usually buy the physical versions for these, but sometimes I go digitial, like for Diablo 3 UEE.

Not sure why but I was under the assumption that The Last of Us: Remastered was Digital only. First big game I have that's download; otherwise I prefer a physical copy even for PC.

I know nowadays, everything is online or downloadable but I still like my physical copy. If it's movies, I rather stream or rent. Music, download. Books, 50/50. For games, physical.

Download takes up storage, and you never know when this certain game/app will be taken down in the future, and then you don't have a choice to download that software, in your almost full hard drive... Yeah, it's the hard drive, and space that gets me not to be a fan of download. Unless if there's no choice, that the games was just released digitally, then that's that (ie, SAO Hollow Fragments). Also download can only be associated to 1 particular account or devices, so it's practically very limited.

Physical you can take it wherever you want and stick it in any console and you don't have to worry about hard drive space. Oh yeah, it's because I kinda collect them too. ^_^;; Mostly JRPG though... and physical copies can get really expensive too if it was a rare game (mainly JRPG... one in particular .//hack/ GU).

Physical for PS Vita because i have 2 account and switching between them to play digital is a pain unless it is not available in Physical only then i go for Digital

But on PC and PS3, digital all the way.
