Recently, a lot of friends my age have started dating. I'm a sophomore in high school and really see no rush to dating at all. But then I'll talk to some people I know much younger than me (8th or 7th grade) and they'll have already been dating one girl or another. In my mind it's kinda too early, but maybe it's not. I'm just curious about your opinions, what age is right to start dating?

I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16. But if your mother isn't Catholic than who knows? If your parents have no objections, then the right age is whatever you want it to be. Don't start dating solely out of peer pressure.

There is no "right age" or "wrong age" the only thing that matters is what you do while you are dating my little cousin is 6 years old and he has 2 girlfriends (I know but he doesn't know any better he's a kid and I did try to explain to him how it wont work when he is older) so date when YOU are ready and when you do start dating take your time with it make it last ALOT of relation ships end because you move too fast and things get awkward/boring so just do what suits yourself not what everyone else is doing after all dating should not be a popularity contest

18, you're legal, you're responsible for your sins (in the US anyway).

When you find a girl/boy who you like a lot, who you spend a lot of time with, who you want to date. Whatever age that is for you. Don't be one of those losers who tries to find a girlfriend just for the sake of having one though.

Firm believer that it happens when it happens. I do think that a LOT of kids these days are just dating to just...date but to each their own. If the parents allow it then whatever. I had my first date when I was 21 and I feel that I shouldn't have because I wasn't ready (which I wasn't and probably still not).

I suggest doing whatever you feel comfortable with for multiple reasons. First of all, forcing yourself into a relationship ends up poorly, I did that and got nothing, nothing at all, wasnt worth it, also I kinda hurt the other person (emotionally)and then she started spreading rumors about me

Secondly, you should wait until you are fully mature, or mature enough to determine what type of person you are, I mean if you are going through a phase, or have been going through multiple phases for the past year, I would not recommend dating because once you finish your phase, you will have a completely new personality and will probably lose all affection for the other person.

I guess there are more reasons I could go through, but I wont. Anyways, any age can be the right age.

As soon as you start high school, I think it's appropriate.

Wait until you're fully comfortable. I waited till I finished college, and I'm glad I did. Dating takes up a lot of time, energy, stress... For me, I know it would have been a hassle and gotten in the way of my education.
