Hello everyone, SailorBee here!

I've noticed TONS of great feedback about our Crunchyroll Roku App in the forums lately,
so I think it would be extremely helpful to you all if I let you know about some of the things we are working on for our next update!

Here are some of the things we are working on currently:

We have identified the following Roku Models to express the behavior below:
N1000, 2100X, 2000C, 2050X, 3100X.

Poor Sugu-chaaaan...!!

We've had several reports from users where they were unable to watch video via the new app on their device.

A couple models identified to experience this are:
3000X, 3050X, 2400SK (Now TV Box).

We have identified and corrected these & the fix will go live in the next update.

For our Free Users: We're sorry that some of you have had issues with mulitple ads loading, or all advertisements loading at the beginning of the video. We've been working on back end improvements to ensure that the correct numbers of advertisements play at the designated times.

Also, just a reminder! If you want to change your subtitle language for the app
you'll need to make sure to update your Subtitle Preference online here: https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=video

We know there are a lot of concerns revolving around the functionality of the queue. These are not final shots, but I'd love to share some in-progress work we've been doing to make sure you are able to enjoy the Roku App to it's fullest!

Here is a new look at how a show will appear in the Queue!

When you access details about the show, you will be presented with the option of viewing the full episode listing,
as well as remove it directly from the queue from this page!

We know there were concerns around not being able to watch more than a single episode directly from the queue,
so here's a screenshot showing that we are adding in an auto play feature!

Finally, we're also aware that some users are having issues with the Roku Remote Control App on Android as well as with third party remotes like the Logitech Harmony. We're hard at work to ensure we can support controls via these as well!

Thank you again for all your support, and feedback!
Even if you are unhappy with something, it’s very important that you let us know. It helps us create the very best experience for you, which is what we continuously strive for! Please feel free to let us know about any other issues you are having! Bjaker, myself and the rest of the Crunchy Crew will be here to help you!

So here's a scenerio. I add a long anime, like Space Brothers, to my queue. It has 99 episodes, which I can't watch in one sitting. I get to episode 53, stop and come back later.

But later, I'm fuzzy on episode 52 so I want to rewatch that first. When I go to the (new) list of episodes to go back one position, does it drop me on episode 1 instead, and I have to scroll through 51 button pushes to get where I want to start, or does it drop in on episode 52, as I would hope, the place where I left off, so I only have to arrow back one show?

Dropping in at episode 1 every time and having to scroll over to where you are is what happens if you go to the current anime or search sections and view episode the lists there, so I'm hoping that behavior isn't replicated into the new functionality queue. It needs to remember where you left off watching and put you there, or at least show the episodes as "watched" somehow without having to start them one at a time to view the progress bar for each.

Awesome; I think these changes will fix many of the issues people are having. Thanks for all your hard work on this crunchyroll and I'm hoping we'll get to see these changes go live in a patch soon.

:D looking forward to it

Hmm, why not use your history page to get to episode 52? I think that is easy enough, at least that's how I normally go backwards with a show that is longer in length like that. Though the feature you bring up would be a nice add on too. As long as there is a choice to make it where you left off versus from the start it would be a great added feature.

Ah, but that's not really an added feature request... it's a request to restore a feature that was there before in the old app's queue that was also lost in the rewrite. It's another one of the reasons the queue was so useful before.

Will we have the option to start an episode from the beginning instead of just resuming it?

Thank you for adding autoplay. I'm looking at an older, longer series, and really the only way to play the shows one after the other is I have to look for the show in Anime, then pull up the show, then scroll left to right to find where I left off and click OK Then when it gets to the end of an episode (I get tired of listening to ending credits... sorry) I can press the Right arrow key and it will take me to the next episode.

You can't do that in Queue at all. It took trial and error to get it to do what I want, but it would be nice to get the autoplay to work (or better yet, the option to turn autoplay on and off like in Hulu)..

Thanks for recognizing that while the new interface is stylish there were some fundamental issues that needed to be addressed.

The queue fix is great! Love it! Can you make sure that it has the actual episode you're on though? I was watching Cardcaptor Sakura and after finishing an episode it would exit to the queue where it would say I am on the same episode I just watched so I had to go to Anime --> Alphabetical --> C --> Cardcaptor Sakura --> Subbed --> Episode I am on.

Also, can you improve the fast-forward / rewind feature? It is clunky now. Please make it how it was. 1 click for slow, 2 clicks for medium, 3 clicks for quick. It used to be so quick to load now it is slow and clunky.

Is there any timescale for the next update?

History page is not always so accurate I keep seeing the latest SAOII eps in there when I know I will marathon that series later and I have checked its not being played on any the house rokus. Usually I have to exit CR and go back in again to get updated history and as I tend leave roku in CR especially now as it does not always log back in and is slow as treacle.

Haha, true, that was a part of the old CR Roku app UI. However, it would be an "added feature" for this new UI.

I hope they can make these features selectable. I dislike the auto play feature, I usually switch series between episodes, and was kind of glad the update did not have that. If there is a way to turn features on/off like on the website player that would be best. Though I recall them saying it would be more of a headache to implement.

Cool .... and, I hope it will work. Given the totally dysfunctional app we have now, I will believe it when I see it.

So it's been 2 weeks and now you're responding to customer feedback.

Has Crunchyroll never heard of customer test panels? Focus groups?

Change the Play option to be "Play from beginning" and "Resume". Also you might want to remap the controls to actually match the Roku handheld.

Don't forget to add a My Queue "refresh" option so that the shows in My Queue can show the just released episodes. I had a few shows in My Queue with "Coming Soon" but when the show was released there was no way to watch it without exiting and relaunching the Crunchyroll app. I often leave the Crunchyroll app running for weeks and if My Queue doesn't refresh then I won't be able to see new episodes when they are released.

Any ETA for a patched release?

Any way for us to access the old Crunchyroll app while these bugs are worked out?
