Yalls indifference towards ISIS concerns me a great deal. I don't understand how people can turn their eyes away from a genocide that's occurring right before their eyes. You know something is wrong when the damn Taliban try to distance themselves from ISIS, claiming they're too brutal for them. The only way to solve the ISIS problem is to kill all of them.

there has been genocide in the world 11BravoPatterson since beyond the situation in Syria and in Afghanistan , people( I mean the main stream new ) forget places like Darfur ,Tibet, and other countries because they found that if you continue to cover the same story no matter how bad it is people will stop watching that channel so the tend to move on to another tragedy to boost ratings, I would also like to point out that most news channel dont point out the amount of humanitarian aid that the national community is giving to help these people trapped in these horrific parts of the world.

And your second point killing them all would only fuel their cause because they believe that they are on a noble mission to destroy the evils of this work i.e countries and or people groups that hold the value of money above all else.I would also like to state that killing only gets more killing and no one wins at that point.

I kind of agree, the ISIS are too dangerous to be kept alive.

I don't wanna hear people on their podiums talk about how the world is so terrible now. I don't wanna hear this story about this person or that person about that person. This politician did this, that politician did that. I don't care. There's always been fighting in the Middle East, always been disease, always been war, always been violence, always been hatred, always been bad, always always always always. rI don't want to hear about it anymore because I do not care! At all.

Political people are annoying as hell, conspiracy theorists are the worst, and faux-world savers are horrific. Controversial? Not really.

Thank God for anime and music to drone out the sounds of a world I don't wanna hear anymore.

Look, it's not that I don't understand the spirit of what you're saying. I really, really do. But there's a limited range of options for engaging ISIS, including:

1. Engage them directly as a unilateral force.
2. Engage them either directly or indirectly as a coalition.

I would imagine Option 2 is more appetizing at first glance. Here are the choices of prospective partners as far as the US is concerned:

1. Russia (has provided support for the Assad regime, kind of a pain in the USA's geopolitical ass)
2. Syria (the Assad regime itself, which is committed to the destruction of not only ISIS, but also Israel)
3. Iraq (whose defense force has frequently pissed its collective pants and fled when challenged by ISIS forces)
4. Iran (also committed to the destruction of Israel)

So which of those governments should the US team up with for the purpose of destroying ISIS militarily? The expansionist dickholes that are covertly invading Ukraine, the two psychopaths who want to wipe out Israel, or the pack of pussies the US will probably have to continue to prop up for the foreseeable future (which is pretty much the same as going it alone)? Israel will be furious in three out of the four cases, and the people of the US will be furious in all four scenarios given the war fatigue and frustration with involving the US in a bloody sectarian struggle. And if the US were to go with Russia it would give the latter leverage to relieve the sanctions being used to get them to back off of Ukraine.

There's no good option for intervention, 11BP. It's a shit sandwich no matter what. It makes sense that the President has been leaning strongly toward (3), that option has by far the smallest amount of shit per unit surface area of bread. But it's still a shit sandwich. The President is going to try to take as few bites as possible.

I'd be more scarred of people resting on their laurels and thinking all is safe in the world again.
Of course it'll be more fun laughing at them when they run around like chickens with their heads cut off after all hell breaks loose.

To be honest though, I'm tired of the world and the American people saying America has to do something about XYZ, then bashing us FOR doing something.

Also to the comment about Israel: they are our allies, of course we've been treating them like crap lately, but the only reason they haven't ran through whoopin and a whoppin everyone from the red sea to India's border is because they don't want to be accused of genocide, not that they would, they just want to get rid of the bullies kicking sand in other peoples faces.

I find their disinterest alarming as well, as it directly impacts voting and therefore the playing field for foreign policy options.

People tend to want something to be done, but are so diverse in opinion on what that is specifically that such feelings are inevitable. You'll simply have to get used to them.

Lest we forget that the newly-formed IDF beat the living shit out of no less than six simultaneously invading armies between 1948 and 1949, taking only one significant territorial loss.

Yeah, I'm just using spoilers to make it so it's not a 20 minute scroll!
Voting is already screwed up, there is no third party, there is too much digging up stupid stuff, worthless media, and people saying that someone did something and isn't worthy of being elected.
It's all the lesser of two evils or whoever has the shiniest unnecessary quality to secure them a place in the history books.
Then because the Prez is just a figure head (read: scapegoat) and the congressional appointees get away with a lot of junk by barely doing their jobs, and everyone just starts the two party hating because "my side is trying to protect your side from dumb stuff" or whatever the fluff of the day to try to get people's minds off of important situations becomes. This all leads to a completely different set of issues that needs solutions!

Opinions are like... well y'all know, even mine stink usually; then again, some of them are highly sarcastic or facetious.
I'll gladly defend me and mine when and where necessary, I'll also sit back and let others deal with their own issues if it doesn't involve me.
You can talk and negotiate till you're blue in the face, but sometimes you just need to get out the giga-paper fan and bash some heads.

I would assume you're talking about your classmates? Give them time to gather experience and knowledge, they're not ready for this sort of thing yet. Issues as complex as the crisis in Ukraine have elements which go over two decades back. You and your classmates have barely been alive for one decade in total, you can't be expected to know these things yet.

Why must I be the only one who seems to care out of the group? Their lack of knowledge disgusts me.
