OR WRONG GUY!! works too.

Have you ever watched an anime where you were so into a certain romantic pairing that when it didn't happen you just felt exhausted and really let down?

I'm really partial to the strong, stoic, and seemingly "masculine" female characters, a lot more than the girly girls, but it is almost always the more girly characters that are chosen in anime with romance. While I can like the final pairing, I'm left so often annoyed or thinking of the girl who wasn't picked, and sometimes it downright makes me upset and I blame the writers.

Who are you're favorite characters who you really feel as if got cheated or left you disappointing that they were not chosen as the romantic partner? Did the final romantic paring damage that show in any way as well?

This thread will contain spoilers, some may end up being huge. To help those who don't want to learn of an anime's final pairing please follow the format below. If you have not seen the anime and do not want to know final pairings, series endings, major events, character deaths and other story or plot revealing spoilers do not click on the spoiler sections.

Yeah, sort of. This isn't really to go after all couples that one didn't like, just those that left you feeling terribly disappointed or those that were damaging to your overall enjoyment, or to the story itself.

That is one of the reasons why the second season was so bad compared to the first. Kyosuke's choice of girl really meant a lot of ugly things happening. He was the ideal man in the first season, but all that went out the window in the second season.

All of my this. Although, I do find Ayase's confession to be a bit forced, I love my yanderes.

Salute the childhood friend! They are the sinking ship of romance in anime. Strong female characters are also on this ship... they try to swim to safety, but usually get eaten by moesharks.

The ending was a forced disclaimer because incest is deemed wrong. In my opinion, the author should've avoided the incest ending and paired him up with another girl. It doesn't make the ending any less bad. I haven't read the source material, but the OVAs are sorely lacking in foreshadowing and all that would hint otherwise.

yeah...that really pisses me off. i mean, if your going to write incest, follow through. dont get cold feet half way.
and really, why is that so wrong?
i mean, everyone loves romeo and juliet,
nevermind that romeo was 17+ and juliet was 13. pedophile, or trying to be, that bastad romero
. but everyone love the love story. i call BS.
not to mention the greek classic of the gods, its like a orgy porno, really twisted sick stuff. but its still okay.

mind you im not encourging incest. but when you look at accpted lit, its not so bad.

ill shut up now.
