ArcheAge will be going into open beta from 9/4 to 9/8 and official launch is on 9/16. Is anyone going to be playing it? If so let's group and do some quests and maybe form a crunchyroll guild.

I brought a silver founder pack but i sadly got the patron bug so played through the last closed beta without any patron status and they never fixed it so i am losing hope in the game, but well as long as i got my patron in time for launch, i won't ask for the refund.

Well as for the open beta, i will definitely check it out, hopefully they got the patron bug fixed by open beta so i can build my house.

Hmm and yea, a crunchyroll guild would be a nice idea but i think it should also include other players even if they are not from crunchyroll because i feel like these kind of guild always slowly die away and i prefer big build.

It works out fine in closed beta, but when .the masses come pouring in, we'll see how it goes. I feel it might just succumb to serious p2w diseases. Especially with those labor points. Wonder if I can just afk all day for points......

I enjoy the game though. I haven't purchased any founder's packs but I was in 4 closed beta sessions. During that time I managed to get a little farm, a boat, and whatever.

I don't think this game is P2W, labor potions can be bought but there is a 14 hr cooldown for it. I've played the alpha for a while now and I didn't see any P2W mechanics.

This game isnt p2w name something that you cant get in game that is better in the shop? You get gliders from cash shop thats a bummer you get labor potions that take 12 hrs to use again and thats only 1000 lp so whats unfair the chest that ppl will buy instead of make, aww darn. Everything that you craft in-game is better than the cash shop and if you are gonna go off saying that the regrade is unfair, oh well let me(people) waste 50$ just to regrade you can farm for hrs/days to get the regrade just people spending money to get it faster. You have to remember that it is still a business they need to make some income some way so quit it with the p2w cause i cant buy the best gear in shop.

Also head starts is on 9/12.

The game is not p2w you achieve nothing but a slight advantage over others burning your own money.. I never spend a dime in cash shops because to me its 100% pointless, especially with current games being so easy I quit within 3 months generally.. Oh, and need I mention that it does you almost no good anyways because its a group game.. Rushing to beat the game by yourself is a pointless endeavor..

Archeage is not your typical MMO.. more like Eve... The end game is not a bunch of repetitive quests/raids to do each week/day... Endgame is based off community groups working together to build castles, navies etc.. a few non instanced raids..and most of all pvp that will never be balanced due to 120 classes... They all ready have the first major content update ready since the game has been out in asia since 2011ish..

My biggest complaint is they are calling the trial mode f2p... They should get rid of that term so that children quit being fooled by it..

If you like the game prepare to subscribe.. without paying you get a trial version of the game that you are limited in trade skills which is the big focus of this game outside of open pvp..As well as unable to own land for houses/farms.

To prepare those that dont know the first 30 levels is a quest line that gets you a horse, small farm, donkey, large farm, and enough GIldaStars to purchase a house and a clipper ship.. After that leveling is up to you.. is more quests or you can level off doing nothing but tradeskills etc you choice.. Everything after level 30 is contested (pvp) areas that have a weird war system you need to get used to... You can kill your own faction in those zones at war by going into bloodlust mode ctrl+f.. And the ocean ive never seen not at war.. so be prepared to be boarded and raped by pirates if your alone with a tradepack on..

I will be playing ArcheAge from pre-launch and would really prefer to group up than run solo

They added a few items to cash shop after last time I played.. Player made convenience items, if these go live I will quit.. The whole point of the game is Open pvp and the extensive trade system..

But if they start selling all these types of items, People who can make them can no longer sale them for as much and it overall effects the rest of the game.. as items that were once considered precious if you couldnt make yourself are now plentiful.. And some of these items effect speeds of vehicles, how quickly and cheaply to repair a ship etc.. And they are even directly effecting gear with thier gear regrade crap. So not only are they influencing economy but pvp battles will be effected as well... Not something I plan to play if this goes forward..

I all ready couldn't believe Trion picked up a sandbox.. but if they can make it where you can buy all the hand holding you need I guess it makes sense..

I played alpha with a friend, really enjoyed, especially the fact that lvl 30s can take out a lvl 50 with proper kiting/combos during quests...i'll start again on the 12th

I just tried the game out yesterday. It feels very reminiscent of Final Fantasy 14 (Realm Reborn) as far as combat and interface are concerned.

Unlike Realm Reborn, the game feels very lacking in atmosphere. The music and sound effects feel very half-hearted, as do the voiced cinematic narratives and the story/lore itself.

The entire time I was logged in players were complaining about imbalance in PvP and how it apparently followed a strict "Pay 2 Win" model where many players had been paying ridiculous amounts of money to power up well beyond the average player.

I would have liked to see some of the aspects of the game advertised in the trailer, such as naval battles, though I could not help but feel the game was yet another uninspired MMORPG designed more to make quick cash for uncreative and unimaginative developers of which I have already seen dozens before.

I think I'll pass on this game simply because I find the labor point system highly irksome and I'm really not that much of a crafter in the first place. Whilst it does have some interesting perks/features, I feel it's not enough to justify a purchase at this point in time.

Valid reasons to skip it but...there is no real purchase involved.

Even so.. it doesn't seem like it will be worth my time, especially considering the fact that it's become pretty apparent that one needs to pay in order to progress at a comparable rate to those who subscribe or purchase founder's packs (mostly referencing LP regen). The game seems to reek of P2W, and I refuse to support such models.
