The N3DSXL is so cool. I was worried about the size. But today I did a little super street rally. The size did not bother me.

I imagine games will still look horrible on the new 3ds. Nintendo has been known for terribly weak consoles. Though I have to admit it has nice games. Im waiting on the New 2ds though lol. So how many parents and grandparents do you think is going to buy new 3ds games for there children 3ds without knowing the difference? They are going to think its a new game... While Nintendo consumed my childhood. Now days they are way out of touch with there gamers. I mean that name New 3ds is probably borderline fraudulent and really deceptive. Also keep in mind alot of stores will not let you return a opened game if someone bought the wrong one. Personally basically everyone I know who has a 3ds has gotten it as a gift from someone who is not tech savvy. Safe to say this is going to be a mess.

This is no different then the DSi. The 3ds is at the end of its lifespan and all of Nintendo's major ips have installments on the system. Most have more then one. Very little software requiring this system will be released.

Well, I've had my New 3DS for about a week now, and I'm not 100% sure I'm happy with it. The reason is the the size of XL version. I'm moving from an original sized Ambassador 3DS to an XL, and it's awkward. I've given it a week to get used to the size difference, but I think it's more than just becoming acclimated to the new size. I've switched various other devices, like keyboards and mice, and even game controllers, and typically it's just a matter of an hour or so to get used to the difference. But I don't have gorilla sized hands and the standard size was perfect for me. That's pretty much why I never migrated to an XL version over the 4 years I owned it.

The other stuff is cool. I've played Smash with my Amiibos, and there does seem to be a noticeable speed improvement. I've also got the new Xenoblade on pre-order, which requires the New 3DS. But if/when Nintendo decides to release the standard sized version, I'm definitely trading "down".

Gonna commit two faux pas in a row: replying to myself, and necro'ing a very old and dead thread, but I was excited to see they finally released the regular sized "New" 3DS:

The Amiibo support is nice, as well as the new mini circle-pad.
It makes Monster Hunter easier to play, in my opinion.

I bought it a few months ago and it's pretty nice. Much faster loading and smoother playing compared to my old 3DS.
